This license does not authorize the holder thereof to take
or kill red-deer stags on lands actually and exclusively used
by any registered acclimatization society for acclimatization
purposes, or on any sanctuary or public domain, or on any
land excepted from the operation of the notification declaring
an open season for the district.

Notification of Vacancy of Seat in the House of Representatives
for the Electoral District of Tauranga.
IN compliance with the provisions of section 99 of the
Legislature Act, 1908, I, Charles Ernest Statham,
Speaker of the House of Representatives of New Zealand,
hereby notify that the Honourable Sir WILLIAM HERBERT
HERRIES, K.C.M.G., a member of the House of Representatives
for the electoral district of Tauranga, died on the twenty-second
day of February, 1923, during a recess of the House, and that
the said seat in the House of Representatives for the said
electoral district is vacant by reason of such death.

Appointing the Time and Place for the First Meeting of the Grey
Electric-power Board.
WHEREAS by section 4 of the Electric-power Boards
Amendment Act, 1920, it is provided that the first
meeting of the Board after the constitution of an electric-
power district shall be held at such time and place as the
Minister by notice in the Gazette appoints:
And whereas by a notice published in Gazette No. 11, of the
first day of February, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-
three, Monday, the fifth day of February, one thousand nine
hundred and twenty-three, at 11 o'clock a.m., was fixed as
the time, and the Council Chambers, Town Hall, Mackay
Street, Greymouth, as the place, for holding the first meeting
of the Grey Electric-power Board :
And whereas the first meeting of the said Board was not
held at the time appointed, and it is considered expedient to
appoint another date as the time for holding the first meeting:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
conferred by the Electric-power Boards Amendment Act,

1920, and of all other powers in anywise enabling me in
this behalf, I, Joseph Gordon Coates, the Minister of Public
Works, do hereby appoint Wednesday, the twenty-first day
of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-three,
at 8 o'clock p.m., as the time, and the Council Chambers,
Town Hall, Greymouth, as the place, for holding the first
meeting of the Grey Electric-power Board.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the
provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to take
land for the more effective carrying-out of the drainage or
other works authorized by the Hauraki Plains Act, 1908.
And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land
so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at
Kaihere, and is there open for inspection; and that all
persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if
they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of
such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such
writing, within forty days from the first publication of this
notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken:
25 acres 3 roods 26 perches.
Being part Ngarua No. 5A Block, situated in Block XII,

deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at
Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon
bordered pink.

the Amalgamated Society of Engineers (including Electricians and Motor Mechanics) Industrial Union of Workers, registered
number 752, situated at Napier, and in exercise of the powers
in this behalf conferred upon me by section 21 of the
Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act, 1908, it is my
intention to cancel the registration of that industrial union
after the expiration of six weeks from the date of the
publication of this notice in the Gazette, unless in the meantime
cause is shown to the contrary.
