Defining the Boundaries of the Gisborne Harbour District.

JELLICOE, Governor-General.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 19th day of December, 1922.

Present:

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred by subsection three of section thirty-one of the Reserves and other Lands Disposal and Public Bodies Empowering Act, 1920, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby define the boundaries of the Gisborne Harbour District to be as set forth in the Schedule hereto; and doth hereby declare that this Order in Council shall take effect as from the first day of December, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-two.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Hawke’s Bay and Auckland Land Districts bounded by a line commencing at Maungapohatu Trig. Station, and proceeding thence along the north-western and north-eastern boundaries of the Waikohu County as described in the New Zealand Gazette, 1920, page 2787, and along the north-eastern boundary of Cook County as described in the New Zealand Gazette, 1919, page 1243, to the sea; thence southerly generally along the sea-coast to Whareongaonga; thence along a public road passing through or fronting Whareongaonga Nos. B, C 4, C 1B, and C 1A 4, Sections 2 and 1, Subdivision 2, Section 9, Puninga Nos. 7A 7B, and 7C, to the southern boundary of Puninga No. 7D; thence along the southern and western boundaries of said No. 7D, the northern boundaries of Puninga Nos. 6, 5, 4B 2, and 4B 1 to a public road, north-westerly along that road to the northern boundary of Block VII, Nuhaka North Survey District; thence westerly along that boundary and northern boundaries of Blocks VI and V to eastern boundary of Mangapoike A, southerly along that boundary to the north-eastern boundary of the Wairoa County as described in the New Zealand Gazette, 1918, page 941; thence north-westerly along that boundary to the Gisborne–Waikaremoana Road, westerly along that road to the Ruakituri River, up that river to a point on a right line between Puketapu Trig. Station and Maungapohatu Trig. Station; thence north-westerly along that line to the point of commencement, as delineated on plan marked M.D. 5505 and deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington.

Defining the Boundaries of the Napier Harbour District.

ALL that area in the Hawke’s Bay and Auckland Land Districts commencing at the intersection of the Napier-Taupo Road with the Rangitaiki River; thence along a right line towards the northernmost point of Waikaremoana to the intersection with the Wairoa Harbour District, as shown and delineated on plan marked M.D. 5506 and deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington; thence along the south-western boundary of that district to the sea, south-westerly generally along the sea-coast to the mouth of Porangahau River, up that river to the north-eastern boundary of Section 25, Suburbs of Porangahau, along that boundary and the north-eastern boundaries of Sections 8, 62, 63, 64, and 65, the north-western boundaries of Sections 65 and 61, along the southern boundaries of Lot 1 of Education Reserve, Section 3 (E.R.), and Section 4, to the Porangahau River; thence up that river to and along the Tangaruhe Stream to the Dannevirke County boundary, and along that boundary as described in the New Zealand Gazette, 1921, page 2733, to the western boundary of Block 69 in Block XI, Takapau Survey District; thence along that boundary, the south-western and north-western boundaries of Block 120, the southern and western boundaries of Block 234 to the Makaretu River, up that river to the western boundary of Block 282, along that boundary to the Manga te Wai River, down that river to the south-western boundary of Block 105, along the south-western and north-western boundaries of that block, the southern, western, and northern boundaries of Block 238, the north-western boundary of aforesaid Block 105, the southern and western boundaries of Block 109, the southern and western boundaries of Block 235, the southern and western boundaries of Block 218, the western boundaries of Block 280, the western, northern, and eastern boundaries of Block 277, the northern boundary of Block 275, the western and northern boundaries of Block 237, the north-western boundary of Block 115, the western and northern boundaries of Block 278, the north-western boundaries of Blocks 286 and 279 to the Avoca or Tukipo River, westerly along that river to the southern boundary of Block 283, along that boundary, and the western boundaries of Blocks 283 and 58, the southern boundaries of Blocks 258 and 259, the western and northern boundaries of Block 259 to the north-eastern corner, across the Tukituki River to the south-western corner of Block 257, along the north-western, north-eastern, and south-eastern boundaries of said block to the Tukituki River, down that river to the south-western corner of Block 256, along the north-western and north-eastern boundaries of Block 256, the western boundary of Block 254, the western boundary of Block 247, the southern boundaries of Blocks 248 and 249, the western boundary of said Block 249, the southern, western and northern boundaries of Block 251, the northern boundary of Block 250, the western and northern boundaries of Block 243, the northern boundary of Block 242, the western boundaries of Blocks 241 and 240, the northern boundary of said Block 240, the western boundary of Block 226, the southern boundary of Block 225, the eastern, southern, and western boundaries of Block 285, the southern boundary of Section 1, Springhill Settlement, the southern and western boundaries of Block 269, the western boundary of Block 267 to a creek, along that creek to the Waipawa River at the north-western corner of Block 100, down that river and up the Makarora River to the Hawke’s Bay County; thence north-erly along that boundary as described in the New Zealand Gazette, 1919, page 3681, to the Mohaka River; thence up that river and the Taharua River to the south-eastern boundary of Tauhara South A; thence along a right line to the Napier-Taupo Road at the point of commencement, as delineated on plan marked M.D. 5507 and deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington.
