Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.
Wellington, 16th February, 1923.
THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Borough of Queenstown, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913.

BOROUGH OF QUEENSTOWN.
Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
Pursuant to section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Queenstown was taken on the 7th day of February, 1923, on the proposal of the Queenstown Borough Council to borrow the sum of £7,000 for the improvement of the water-supply of the borough and the generation of hydro-electric power for lighting and other purposes.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 123, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 11.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Board of the Hutt Valley Electric-power District, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913.

HUTT VALLEY ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.
Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
Pursuant to section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Hutt Valley Electric-power District was taken on the 31st day of January, 1923, on the proposal of the Hutt Valley Electric-power Board to borrow the sum of £200,000 for the purpose of distributing electrical energy in the Hutt Valley Electric-power District.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 1,431, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 137.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Council of the County of Patangata, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913.

PATANGATA COUNTY COUNCIL.
Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan of £8,600 for Cook's Tooth Road.
Pursuant to section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, we hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Cook's Tooth Special Rating Area of the County of Patangata taken on the 23rd day of January, 1923, on the proposal of the Patangata County Council to borrow the sum of £8,600 to widen, culvert, and metal Cook's Tooth Road in the Porangahau Riding, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 30, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 6.
We therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

MANAWATU DRAINAGE BOARD.
Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
Pursuant to section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Manawatu Drainage District taken on the 15th day of February, 1923, on the proposal of the Manawatu Drainage Board to borrow the sum of £5,000 for the purpose of widening, deepening, diverting, straightening, and to do all such other works and acts as may be necessary for the purpose of improving the Joint Outlet, Whiskey Creek, Burke's Drain, and Boundary Drain, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 82, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 90; informal, 2.
I therefore declare the proposal was lost.

Notice respecting Proposed Alteration of Boundaries, Kaikoura River District, County of Kaikoura.

It is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the River Boards Amendment Act, 1913, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be included in the Kaikoura River District. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed inclusion which they desire to lodge, within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Blocks VI and X, Maramarua Survey District, for the Purposes of a Road.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road in Blocks VI and X, Maramarua Survey District; and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Whangamarino, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.
