declaring certain districts to be commercial fruit-growing
districts, and prescribing the manner in which hawthorn in
such districts shall be dealt with.
REGULATIONS.

The districts named and defined in the First Schedule
hereto are declared to be commercial fruit-growing districts
for the purposes of the said Act. -
In the case of those districts and parts of districts
included in the Second Schedule, all hawthorn shall, between
the 1st day of June, 1923, and the 31st day of July, 1923,
be cut down so as to prevent any part thereof from flowering,
and thereafter shall be similarly cut down in the month of
June or July in each year and at such other times as may
be necessary to prevent any part thereof from flowering. -
In the case of the district and parts of districts included
in the Third Schedule, wherein fireblight is known to exist,
all hawthorn growing therein shall be completely destroyed
before the 30th day of June, 1923, and any plants which
may appear subsequently shall forthwith be completely
destroyed.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
PORT ALBERT DISTRICT.
All that area in the North Auckland Land District bounded
on the north by the north-western boundary of the Komiti
Block, the Arapaoa River, the Otamatea River, and the
Owhei Creek, from the Kaipara Harbour to the head of the
said Owhei Creek; thence along a right line to the railway-
bridge over the Topuni River; thence southerly along the
railway-line to the south-eastern boundary of the Oruawharo
Parish; thence south-westerly along that boundary and the
south-eastern boundary of the Wharehine River to the Tauhoa
River, and down that river to the Kaipara Harbour, and
northerly along the shores of the Kaipara Harbour to the
point of commencement.
WARKWORTH DISTRICT.
All that area in the North Auckland Land District bounded
by a line commencing at the entrance of the Mahurangi or
Waihe Harbour, and proceeding thence up that harbour to
the head of Hepburn's Creek; thence along a road fronting
or passing through Sections 77, 111, 78, 172, 166, 168, 105,
99, 98, 129, 117, 60, 59, 58, 92, and 93 to Kourawhero Parish
boundary; thence along the eastern boundary of that parish
and the south-eastern boundaries of Hoteo and Pakiri Parishes
to the easternmost corner of Allotment 51, Pakiri Parish,
along the north-eastern boundary of said Allotment 51 to a
road, and northerly along that road to the Pakiri River,
down that river to the sea, and along the sea-coast and the
shores of the Whangateau Harbour to the south-eastern
corner of Allotment 36, Matakana Parish; thence along the
south-eastern boundaries of Allotments 36, 115, and 11 to
the Matakana River, down that river to the sea, and along
the sea-coast to the entrance of the Mahurangi Harbour, the
place of commencement.
WAITEMATA DISTRICT.
All that area in the North Auckland Land District bounded
by a line commencing at the westernmost corner of Section 11s,
Motutara Settlement, on the sea-coast, and proceeding thence
north-easterly along a public road fronting Sections 11s, 8s,
5s, and 2s, Motutara Settlement, and running through Muri-
wai, Waikoukou, and Kahukuri Blocks to the Kumeu River,
up that river to Section 48, Paremoremo Parish, and along
the western and northern boundaries of that section and the
northern boundary of Section 160 to a public road; thence
easterly along that road fronting or passing through Sections
62H, 66H, 91, 90, 89, 61, 78, and 16 to the northern boundary
of the last-named section; thence easterly along that
boundary, across the Rangitopuni Stream, and along a road
passing through or fronting Sections 208, 67, 237, 259, 251,
252, 253, 247, 246, 254, and 232 to the north-eastern corner
of said Section 232; thence southerly along a right line to
head of Paremoremo Inlet, and down the middle of that
inlet, down the middle of the Waitemata River, and across
the Waitemata Harbour to the mouth of Oakley Creek;
thence along the western boundaries generally of the City of
Auckland and the Borough of Mount Albert to a road fronting
Allotment 87, Titirangi Parish; thence along that road,
Richardson Road, East Road, New Windsor Road, and a
road forming the north-western boundary of Allotment 72;
thence along the north-western boundary of Allotment 74 to
Green Bay; thence south-westerly along the northern shore
of Manukau Harbour and north-westerly along the sea-coast
to the point of commencement.
ALBANY DISTRICT.
All that area in the North Auckland Land District bounded
by a line commencing at the mouth of Lucas Creek, and
running up that creek to a public road running through
Allotment 28, Paremoremo Parish; thence along that road
running through or fronting Allotments 28, 76, 175, 176, 177,
319, and 198 to main Waiwera Road; south-easterly along
said main road to the north-western boundary of Allot-
ment 259, Takapuna Parish, and along the north-western
boundaries of Allotments 259, 258, 265, 263, 262, and 260,
all of said Takapuna Parish, to the sea; thence bounded
on the east by the sea, on the south by the Waitemata
Harbour, and on the west by Lucas Creek to the point of
commencement.
TE KAUWHATA DISTRICT.
All that area lying within a three-mile radius of Te Kau-
whata Railway-station.
THAMES DISTRICT.
All that area in the Auckland Land District bounded on
the north-west by the Tararu Stream from its mouth to a
point opposite the south-eastern corner of Section 4, Block I,
Thames Survey District; on the north-east by a right line
from said south-eastern corner to the southernmost corner
of Taparahi No. 3 No. 2 Block; on the south-east by a right
line to the mouth of the Kopu Creek; and on the south-west
by the Waihoa River and the Firth of Thames.
HAWKE'S BAY DISTRICT.
All that area in the Hawke's Bay Land District bounded
as follows: By a line commencing at a point at the northern-
most mouth of the Esk River, and running west along the
southern bank of that river to its intersection with the
Eskdale-Rissington Road; thence generally in a southerly
direction along the eastern boundary of that road to its
junction with the Wharerangi-Puketapu Road, and thence
along the Puketapu Road to its junction with the Moteo-
Fernhill Road; thence along that road, crossing the Tutae-
kuri River, and continuing in a southerly direction along the
aforesaid Moteo-Fernhill Road to its junction with the Here-
taunga Road; thence along the eastern boundary of the
Maraekakaho-Napier Road to its junction with a public road
on the north-eastern boundary of Te Awa-o-to-Atua No. 1
Native Block; thence south-east along that road crossing the
Hastings-Maraekakaho Road, and along the Pakipaki Bridge
Pa Road to its junction with the Pakipaki-Stortford Lodge
Road; across that road, and along its eastern boundary to
its junction with the Te Aute Road; thence north-east along
the Te Aute Road for about nineteen chains to a point in
line with a public road running south-east through Kakiraawa
No. 2N Native Block; thence across the aforesaid Te Aute
Road, and south-east along the aforesaid public road to its
junction with a road in the Te Wharau Block, and continuing
thence in a north-easterly direction along that road to the
left bank of the Tukituki River; thence in a general northerly
direction along the left bank of the said Tukituki River to
a point in line with the southern boundary of Clive Suburban
Sections; thence across the said Tukituki River by a right
line to the southern boundary of the aforesaid Clive Suburban
Sections, continuing north-east along the southern boundaries
of Clive Suburban Sections Nos. 289, 269, 268, 267, 254, 253,
250, 249, 248, 247, 227, 228, and 229 to its intersection with
the Maraetotara Stream; thence along the left bank of that
stream to its mouth; thence generally in a northerly direction
along the sea-coast to the commencing-point.
GREYTOWN DISTRICT.
All that area within a four-mile radius of the post-office
at Greytown.
WAIMEA DISTRICT.
All that area in the Nelson Land District, commencing at
the mouth of the Otuwhero River in Tasman Bay, and thence
bounded by the said bay, the estuary of the Waimea River,
Tasman Bay, and Nelson Haven to the south-west corner of
Section 4, Block V, Wakapuaka Survey District; thence
by the Nelson-Blenheim Road to the road forming the north-
west boundary of Section 24 in Block VI of the said survey
district, by that road, by Section 77, by Sections 33 and 4
in Block VI before mentioned, by Sections 15 and 18 in
Block X, Wakapuaka Survey District, and by Sections 48,
64, 45, 46, 50, 24, 25, and 28, all in Block IX of the said
survey district, and the production of the last-named boundary
to the Maitai River, by that river to the western boundary
of Section 31 in Block I, Maungatatapu Survey District; thence
bounded by Sections 31, 2, 18, 28, 26, part 4, and 22, all in
Block I last mentioned, by Section 14 (waterworks reserve)
to the road near Trig. J, by the said road over Trigs. GB
and G, by the Aniseed Valley Road to the Roading River;
