THE WAIKAIA OIL SHALE DEVELOPMENT COMPANY (LIMITED).

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.

NOTICE is hereby given that the following special resolution has been passed by this company:—
“That the company be wound up voluntarily; and that Mr. F. A. WEBB, Public Accountant, of Invercargill, be appointed Liquidator.”

Creditors are hereby notified that they must send in their claims on or before 15th January, 1922.

ONE TREE HILL ROAD BOARD.

BUILDING BY-LAW, 1922.

THE One Tree Hill Road Board, in pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred on it by the Road Boards Act, 1908, the Health Act, 1920, and of every other power and authority enabling it in that behalf, hereby makes by special order the following by-law:—

  1. This by-law shall be read with and as amending the building by-laws of the One Tree Hill Road Board made on the sixth day of October, 1920.

  2. Notwithstanding the provisions of the said building by-laws, no erection, alteration, or renewal of any building not used exclusively as a dwelling which has a frontage to or abuts on Manukau Road or Great South Road within the One Tree Hill Road District shall be carried out unless the same is carried out in brick, stone, or cement concrete, or in some other permanent material approved by the Board.

  3. The provisions of the said building by-laws shall, mutatis mutandis, apply to all work carried out under the provisions of the preceding clause.

  4. Every person guilty of a breach of any of the provisions of these by-laws shall be liable to a penalty not exceeding five pounds, or where the breach is a continuing one then to a penalty not exceeding five pounds for every day or part of a day during which breach continues.

This by-law shall come into operation on being gazetted.

I hereby certify that the foregoing by-law was made by the One Tree Hill Road Board by special order, the resolution in respect of which was passed at a special meeting of the said Board convened for that purpose on the 1st day of November, 1922, and confirmed at a subsequent meeting of the said Board held on the 1st day of December, 1922, and that all public notifications, notices, deposits, and other requirements have been duly complied with in respect of such special order.

FEATHERSTON COUNTY COUNCIL.

RIMUTAKA BRIDGES LOAN, £2,200.

THAT, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect to interest and principal and also other charges on a loan of £2,200, authorized to be raised by the Featherston County Council, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, to enable the Featherston County Council to comply with the Governor-General’s Warrant dated the 26th day of August, 1920, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 2nd September, 1920, No. 78, for the reconstruction of seven bridges on the Rimutaka Hill Road and approaches thereto, the said Featherston County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-sixtieth of a penny (1/60d.) in the pound sterling on the rateable value of all rateable property situate within the County of Featherston.

And that the said special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the first days of February and August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-half (36½) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

TE AROHA BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Te Aroha Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and also other charges on a loan of £1,100, authorized to be raised by the Te Aroha Borough Council, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of extending and enlarging the waterworks of the Borough of Te Aroha, the said Te Aroha Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one penny per pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of annual value) of all rateable property of the Borough of Te Aroha; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

VINCENT COUNTY COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Vincent County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £5,000, authorized to be raised by the Vincent County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purchase and construction of irrigation-works for the special rating-area described in the Schedule hereto, the said Vincent County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of twopence (2d.) in the pound upon the rateable values of all rateable property in the said special rating-area; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 15th day of October, in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

ALL that piece of land situate in the Survey District of Lauder, in the Matakauui Riding, Vincent County, in the Land District of Otago, bounded as follows:—

Commencing at the south-eastern corner of Section 6, Block III, Lauder; thence in a westerly direction along the southern boundaries of Sections 6, 1, 11, 16, and 21, Block III, to the south-western corner of Section 26, Block III; thence in a northerly direction along the eastern boundary of Section 26 to the north-eastern corner of the said Section 26; thence in a westerly direction along the southern boundary of Section 28, Block III, and across a county road to the north-eastern boundary of Section 37, Block III; thence in a north-north-westerly direction along the eastern boundaries of Sections 37, 38, and 39, Block III, to the eastern corner of Section 5, Block II; thence in a north-westerly direction along the north-eastern boundaries of Sections 5, 14, and 13, Block II, to the eastern corner of Section 11, Block II; thence in a south-westerly direction along the south-eastern boundary of Section 11, and across a county road to the north-eastern boundary of part Run 223N; thence in a south-easterly direction along the said north-eastern boundary of part Run 223N for a distance of 25 chains 60 links; thence in a south-westerly direction for a distance of 88 chains to the south-western boundary of part Run 223N; thence in a north-westerly direction following the south-western boundary of part Run 223N to the north-west corner of the said part Run 223N; thence crossing county road to the south-eastern corner of Run 223J; thence generally in a westerly direction along the southern boundary of Run 223J to its point of intersection with Ned’s Creek; thence in a north-westerly direction on a bearing of 336 degrees 19 minutes a distance of 3732·5 links; thence in a north-easterly direction on a bearing of 66 degrees 19 minutes a distance of 11582·8 links to the western boundary of Run 223o; thence in a north-westerly direction along the said western boundary a distance of 2493·4 links; thence in a north-easterly direction on a bearing of 66 degrees 19 minutes a distance of 4483·9 links; thence across a county road to the south-western boundary of Section 8, Block II; thence along the south-western boundary of said Section 8, across a county road; and along the south-western boundary of Section 9 to the south-eastern boundary of Section 9; thence in a north-easterly direction along the said south-eastern boundary of said Section 9 to the north-eastern boundary of Section 9; thence in a north-westerly direction along the said north-eastern boundary of Section 9, across a county road to the southern corner of Section 67, Block VII; thence along the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 67 and 68, Block VII, to the north-eastern boundary of Section 68; thence in a north-westerly direction along the north-eastern boundary of Section 68 to the north-western boundary thereof; thence in a north-easterly direction across a county road, and along the north-western boundary of Section 73 to the eastern boundary thereof; thence in a southerly direction along the eastern boundary of said Section 73, Block VII, to the north-eastern corner of Section 74, Block VII; thence
