receiving stolen goods, mischief, assault, or any offence or crime of any kind under the Crimes Act, 1908, and also idle and disorderly persons, rogues and vagabonds, and incorrigible rogues convicted under the Police Offences Act, 1908, and persons convicted of an offence under the Gaming Act, 1908. Provided always that the Stipendiary Stewards’ Committee appointed by the New Zealand Trotting Conference, upon being satisfied by evidence as to character and otherwise that any person who, by reason of any conviction, comes within the scope of this regulation should have relief from the effect thereof, may grant exemption to any such person, and may at any time revoke any such exemption without notice to such person, and without assigning any reason for such revocation.

The foregoing regulations of the Poverty Bay Trotting Club were made and passed by such club on the 9th day of November, 1922, and signed by the Chairman and Secretary.

PAPAKURA TOWN BOARD.

RESOLUTIONS re SPECIAL RATES ON LOANS.

Road Loan.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Papakura Town Board hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and also the other charges on a loan of £450, authorized to be raised by the Papakura Town Board, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the formation and metalling of streets within the town district, the said Papakura Town Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one thirty-sixth of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property within the Papakura Town District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 29th day of October and the 29th day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

Water Loan.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Papakura Town Board hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and also the other charges on a loan of £2,800, authorized to be raised by the Papakura Town Board, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for completion of undertaking to provide a water-supply for the Papakura Town District, the said Papakura Town Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-sixth of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property within the Papakura Town District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 29th day of October and the 29th day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

LOWER HUTT BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SECURITY RATE FOR SPECIAL BRIDGES LOAN OF £300.

IN pursuance of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Lower Hutt Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £300, authorized to be raised by the Lower Hutt Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of providing the Lower Hutt Borough Council’s share of constructing the three bridges, one over the Pakurataki River, one over Millers Stream, and one over the Stokes Valley Stream, the said Lower Hutt Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one and one-hundredth part of a penny (1d. and 1/100d.) in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Borough of Lower Hutt, comprising the whole of the Borough of Lower Hutt; and that such rate be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 10 (ten) years, or until such loan is fully paid off.

TAUMARUNUI BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Taumarunui Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and also the other charges on a loan of £2,000, authorized to be raised by the Taumarunui Borough Council, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of the completion of water-filtration scheme, the said Taumarunui Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-fifth of a penny (1/5d.) in the pound on the unimproved value of all rateable property in the Borough of Taumarunui; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
