    THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Council of the County of Castlepoint, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913.

CASTLEPOINT COUNTY COUNCIL.
Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of ratepayers of the County of Castlepoint was taken on the 1st day of November, 1922, on the proposal of the Castlepoint County Council to borrow the sum of £3,000 for the purpose of paying the cost of constructing a ferro-concrete bridge over the Whareama River on the Masterton-Waimata Road, in Tinui.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 32, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was nil.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

    THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Council of the County of Egmont, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913.

    COUNTY OF EGMONT.
    Declaration of Poll.-Ihaia Road Special Loan of £5,000.
    PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the Ihaia Road Special Rating Area taken on the 15th day of November, 1922, on the proposal to borrow the sum of £5,000 for the purpose of widening, metalling, and tar-sealing that portion of the Ihaia Road in the Opua Riding of the County of Egmont situate between the southern boundary of Subdivision 5 of Section 36, Block IX, Opunake Survey District, and the Wiremu Road, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 28, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 17.
    I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
    Dated at Opunake this 16th day of November, 1922.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Council of the County of Clutha, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913.

COUNTY OF CLUTHA.
Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the County of Clutha was taken on the 17th day of November, 1922, on the proposal of the Clutha County Council to borrow the sum of £9,000 for the purpose of rebuilding or re-erecting bridges (over 30 ft. span) within the county.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 668, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 598.
I therefore declare that the proposal was rejected.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Council of the County of Piako, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913.

PIAKO COUNTY COUNCIL.
Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Elstow Roads No. 2 Special Rating Area in the County of Piako was taken on the 13th day of November, 1922, on the proposal of the Piako County Council to borrow the sum of £8,000 for the purpose of metalling roads in the said special rating area for the first time.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 38, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 11.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has, in pursuance of section 48 of the Land Act, 1908, approved of meetings of the Hawke's Bay Land Board being held during the year 1923 at the District Lands and Survey Office, Napier, at 9.30 o'clock a.m. on Thursday, the 11th January, 8th February, 8th March, 12th April, 10th May, 14th June, 12th July, 9th August, 13th September, 11th October, 8th November, and 13th December; and at the Local Lands and Survey Office, Gisborne, at 10 o'clock a.m. on Monday, the 22nd January, 1923.
