and exclusively used by any registered acclimatization society for acclimatization purposes, or on any sanctuary or public domain, or any land mentioned in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

AREAS WHEREIN IMPORTED AND NATIVE GAME SHALL NOT BE KILLED.

All that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement approximately twenty-eight square miles, situated in Purua and Whangarei Survey Districts, and comprising all the land within the circumference of a circle having a radius of three miles, and its centre near the hatcheries at the intersection of the eastern boundary of Ketenikau No. 7 in Block VIII, Purua Survey District, with the north side of the road cutting off the extreme south-eastern corner of the said Ketenikau No. 7.

The boundary as exactly indicated above passes approximately through the places locally known as follows: Starting at the north it crosses Kauri Road just south of Big Mountain Trig. Station; thence going westerly and southerly it crosses the Ruatangata Road at Ngararatunua Settlement; afterwards crossing Three-mile Bush Road near Campbell's; after passing through State Forest Reserves of 1,580 acres and 1,600 acres it strikes Maunu Road near Black Bridge; crossing Otaika Road at Raumanga it passes to the south-east of the Borough of Whangarei, and crosses Head's Road at Reyburn's house; after crossing Whareora Road near the caves and Kiripaka Road near the church the boundary passes through Cork's Farm and back to starting-point; including the Borough of Whangarei and the Town District of Kamo.

All that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 1,600 acres, more or less, being a reserve for water-conservation, situated in Blocks XI and XII, Purua Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by Taikoia Block, Pukemiro Block, and Sections 55, 52, and 76; towards the east by Horahora Block; towards the south generally by Sections 1, 2, and 3, Taikawiwi Block, Sections 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8, Waihoanga Block, and Te Hape Block; and towards the west generally by Section 28, Crown land, and State forest reserve.

Shooting Season for Godwits, License Fee, &c., Tauranga Acclimatization District.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921-22, I, William Downie Stewart, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify that the following native game—viz., godwits—may be taken or killed within the Tauranga Acclimatization District, comprising the County of Tauranga, from the first day of January, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-three, to the thirty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-three (both days inclusive). And I do further notify that licenses to take or kill such native game within the said district will be issued to any person on payment of the sum of ten shillings each; and the Postmasters at Tauranga, Katikati, Paengaroa, and Te Puke are hereby authorized to sign and issue the said licenses.

Nothing in any license to take or kill godwits shall authorize the holder thereof to take or kill godwits on lands actually and exclusively used by any registered acclimatization society for acclimatization purposes, or on any sanctuary or public domain.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921-22, I, William Downie Stewart, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify that the following native game—viz., godwits—may be taken or killed within the Hobson Acclimatization District, comprising all that area in the Auckland Land District commencing on the sea-coast at the north-western corner of Block V, Waipoua Survey District, and bounded by the southern boundaries of Blocks I, II, III, and IV, Waipoua Survey District,

to a public road, across that road, and by the western, southern, and south-eastern boundaries of Section 10, Block I, Tutamoe Survey District, to the north-eastern corner of the last-mentioned section, across a public road, and by the north-eastern boundaries of Sections 5, 6, and 7, Block V, Tutamoe Survey District, to the south-eastern corner of Section 5, Block I, Tutamoe Survey District; thence by the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 5, 4, 3, and 14 of the last-mentioned block, and part of the southern boundary of Section 5, Block II, Tutamoe Survey District, to the intersection of a line running between the north-western corner of Section 3, Block XIII, Punakitere Survey District, and Tutamoe Trig. Station; thence by the last-mentioned line to Tutamoe Trig. Station; thence generally by the northern and north-eastern boundaries of Hobson County as described in New Zealand Gazette, 1911, page 3065, to the Otamatea County; thence by the northern boundary of Otamatea County as described in New Zealand Statutes, 1886, page 315, to the main road to Waipoua; thence by the western side of that road through Maungaturoto to the Great North Road, and by the western side of that road to the eastern boundary of Otamatea County; thence by the eastern and southern boundaries of Otamatea County, the eastern and southern boundaries of Hobson County, to the sea; thence by the sea to the north-western corner of Block V, Waipoua Survey District, the place of commencement; (except in the area mentioned in the Schedule hereto) from the first day of January, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-three, to the thirty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-three (both days inclusive). And I do further notify that licenses to take or kill such native game within the said district will be issued to any person on payment of the sum of ten shillings each; and that the Postmasters at Maungaturoto, Paparoa, Pahi, Matakohe, Dargaville, Te Kopuru, Aratapu, Tangiteroria, Tangowahine, Kaihu, Mititai, Raupo, Ruawai, Batley, Hoanga, Mangawhare, Mareretu, Onetoa, Naumai, Otamatea, Rehia, Tutamoe, Wairere, Whakapirau, and Tokatoka are hereby authorized to sign and issue the said licenses.

Nothing in any license to take or kill godwits shall authorize the holder thereof to take or kill godwits on lands actually and exclusively used by any registered acclimatization society for acclimatization purposes, or on any sanctuary or public domain, or any land mentioned in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

ADDITIONAL AREAS WHEREIN NATIVE GAME SHALL NOT BE KILLED.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, situated in Kai Iwi and Kaihu Survey Districts, Hobson County, being the lakes known as Lake Waikere, Lake Taharoa, and Lake Kai Iwi, and the area surrounding the said lakes included within a line running parallel to and forty chains distant from the margins of the said lakes.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921-22, I, William Downie Stewart, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify that the following native game—viz., godwits—may be taken or killed within the Auckland Acclimatization District, comprising all that area in the North Auckland, Auckland, Taranaki, and Wellington Land Districts bounded by a line commencing at the mouth of the Mokau River, and proceeding thence along high-water mark, Tasman Sea, in a northerly direction generally (crossing the mouths of all harbours and rivers by the way) to the Kaipara Harbour entrance to a point midway between Kaipara Heads; thence up the centre of the channels, Kaipara Harbour, leading to the mouth of Oruawhero River; thence up the middle of that river, Topuni River, and Hakaru River to the north-west corner of Section 33, Oruawhero Parish; thence along the south-western boundaries of Sections 65, 64, 61, 60, 57, 56; 51, and 50, all in Mangawhai Parish, and along the eastern boundary of the last-mentioned section to a public road; thence south-easterly along that road to a point opposite south-west corner of Section 92 in the afore-said parish; thence across that road and proceeding along the western boundaries generally of said Section 92 and Sections 90, 89, 88, 87, and 86 in the aforesaid parish to a public road; thence north-westerly along that road to a stream near the headwaters of the Mangawhai Harbour; thence down the middle of that stream and the middle of that
