Boundaries of Borough of Whangarei altered.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS, in pursuance of section one hundred and
thirty-three of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920,
a petition was presented to the Governor-General praying
that certain areas be excluded from the County of Whangarei
and included in the Borough of Whangarei:

And whereas a Commission appointed under the said sec-
tion held inquiries, and recommended certain alterations of
the said areas:

And whereas it is expedient to make the alterations of the
boundaries of the said borough recommended by the said
Commission:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
and authorities vested in me by the said Municipal Cor-
porations Act, 1920, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe,
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do
hereby declare that as on and from the first day of April,
one thousand nine hundred and twenty-three, the areas
described in the Schedule hereto shall be excluded from
the County of Whangarei and included in the Borough of
Whangarei.

SCHEDULE.

AREAS INCLUDED IN THE BOROUGH OF WHANGAREI.

ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District bounded
on the north-east and south by the Borough of Whangarei
to the Waiarohia River; thence up the Waiarohia River to
an allotment containing 4 acres as delineated on plan No. 22
at the Deeds Registry, Auckland; thence northerly along the
western boundary of that allotment to Whauwhau Road;
thence easterly along the southern side of the said Whauwhau
Road to a point in line with the western boundary of an
allotment containing 13 acres 1 rood 10 perches as delineated
on plan 3719A deposited in the office of the District Land
Registrar at Auckland; thence by a right line across that
road, and along the western boundary aforesaid to the
southern side of the Whauwhau Railway line; thence easterly
along the aforesaid railway to the south-western corner of
Allotment 8; thence north-westerly along the south-western
boundaries of Allotments 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12 to the north-
western corner of Allotment 12; thence north-easterly
along the northern boundary of Allotment 12 to the north-
eastern corner of the aforementioned Allotment 12; thence
southerly along the eastern boundaries of Allotments 12 and
11 to the south-eastern corner of the last-mentioned allot-
ment; thence by a right line across the road to the borough
boundary.

Also all that area in the North Auckland Land District
commencing at the northernmost corner of that part of
Horahora No. 2 shown on plan 468A, proceeding thence
south-westerly to the north-eastern corner of Horahora No. 1;
thence north-westerly along the north-eastern boundary to
the north-western corner of the said Horahora No. 1; thence
westerly along the northern boundary of that part of Hora-
hora No. 2 shown on L.T. plan 3719A to its north-western
corner; thence southerly along its western boundary to a
public road; thence by a right line across that road to the
north-eastern corner of Subdivision 1, D.P. 3158; thence
southerly along the eastern boundary of the said Subdivision 1
to a public road, across that road, and thence westerly along
the southern side of that road to the north-western corner
of Lot 1, D.P. 4476; thence southerly along the western
boundary of the said Lot 1 to the Raumanga River; thence
south-easterly along the Raumanga River to the Whangarei-
Raumanga Road; thence by a right line across that road to
the north-western corner of Section East 8, deposited plan 975;
thence by the western boundary of the said Section East 8
to its south-western corner; thence easterly along the
southern boundary of Section East 8 to the south-western
boundary of an allotment containing 4 acres 3 roods 31 per-
ches, deposited plan 1032; thence south-easterly along the
south-western boundary of that allotment to the north-
western corner of Lot 16, deposited plan 374; thence south-
easterly along the south-western boundary of the said Lot 16
to the Otaike—Whangarei Road; thence by a right line to
the centre of the aforesaid road; thence easterly along the
centre of the Otaike—Whangarei Road to the intersection of
a public road forming the south-western boundaries of Lots 28
and 44; thence south-easterly along the centre of that
public road to its intersection with High Street; thence
north-easterly along the centre of High Street and a public
