continuing in a westerly direction generally by the boundary
of the aforementioned provisional State forest as described in
the New Zealand Gazette of 1922, page 1511, to its intersection
with the Waimarino Road, and by the said road to its intersection
with the southern boundary of the northern portion
of Provisional State Forest No. 67 ; thence by the boundary
of the last-mentioned provisional State forest as described in
the New Zealand Gazette, 1922, page 229, to its intersection
with the Erua Road ; thence in a north-westerly direction
along the said road to its intersection with the western
boundary of Section 29, Block VII, Manganui Survey District ;
thence by the boundary of the last-mentioned section to its
intersection with the Retaruke River ; thence by a line in an
easterly direction to the Retaruke Road, and by the said road
to its intersection with the western boundary of Provisional
State Forest No. 67 ; thence in a northerly and easterly
direction generally by the boundary of the aforementioned
provisional State forest as described in the last-mentioned
Gazette to its intersection with the western boundary of
Section 6, Block XII, Kaitieke Survey District ; thence by
the west and north boundary of the aforementioned Section 6
to its intersection with the Kaitieke Road, and continuing
along the said road in a south-easterly and north-easterly
direction to the south-eastern boundary of Raurimu Township ;
thence by the last-mentioned boundary to its intersection
with the Makaretu Stream ; thence in a north-westerly direction
along the said stream to its junction with the Piopio Tea
Stream, and along the last-mentioned stream to its intersection
with a road ; thence by the said road to its junction with the
Waimarino-Taumarunui Road, and continuing along the lastmentioned
road to the southern boundary of Waimarino E
Block ; thence due east by the last-mentioned boundary to
its intersection with the Whakapapa Stream ; thence in a
northerly direction generally by the said river to the northern
boundary of Waimarino E Block ; thence running due west
by the last-mentioned boundary and its prolongation to the
North Island Main Trunk Railway ; thence in a northerly
direction generally by the said railway to the WaimarinoTaumarunui
Road ; thence by the said road for a distance of
approximately 1½ miles ; thence by a straight line due east
to the Whakapapa River, and in a north-easterly direction
generally by the said river to the point of commencement :
save and except all townships and villages within the abovedescribed
area. As the same is more particularly delineated
on forest atlases Nos. 52, 53, 62, 63, and 71, deposited in the
Head Office, State Forest Service, at Wellington, and thereon
bordered red.

Bread Prices.—Reduction of Maximum Retail Prices.
IT is hereby notified, for public information, that the
Board of Trade, in pursuance and exercise of the power
and authority conferred upon it by Orders in Council dated
the 28th day of February, 1922, and 21st October, 1922,
has made special orders fixing maximum retail prices of
bread in various specified localities, and has from time to
time duly published such maximum prices. Notice is hereby
given that the Board of Trade has amended such orders, and
has reduced all such maximum prices by ½d. per 2lb. loaf.
The reduction in such maximum prices shall take effect
with respect to specified localities in the South Island on the
30th October, 1922, and with respect to specified localities
in the North Island on the 6th November, 1922.

AT the examination of candidates for a surveyor's license
held in September, 1922, under the Surveyors' Institute
and Board of Examiners Act, 1908, and conducted by the
Federated Surveyors' Boards of Australia and New Zealand,
thirty-three candidates presented themselves in New Zealand.
Nine of these candidates succeeded in obtaining passes, as
