NOTICE is hereby given that this Council proposes to execute a certain public work—viz., the alteration of the course of the road adjoining and passing through Whangara E, F, H 2a, B No. 2b, Section 1, Blocks III, X, XIV, Whangara Survey District; and for that purpose to take the lands described in the First Schedule hereto, and to close the portions of road described in the Second Schedule hereto, the land in the road so closed to be exchanged for the lands taken for the new road.

The plan showing the lands to be taken and the portions of road to be closed may be inspected at the office of the Council, Childers Road, Gisborne, during office hours.

Any person having any well-grounded objection to the proposed work or to the taking of the lands, or to the closing of the portions of road, must lodge such objection in writing at the office of the Council, Gisborne, within forty days of the first publication of this notice.

BOROUGH OF NORTHCOTE.

PURSUANT to section 39 of the Rating Act, 1908, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Northcote taken on the 22nd day of August, 1922, on the proposal that the system of rating in the said borough be on the unimproved value, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 260, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 150.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

Adams and Co.,” Wholesale Confectioners, has been dissolved as from the 23rd August, 1922. The business will in future be carried on under the same name by H. G. ADAMS, C. G. HAMMOND, and W. E.
