PUBLIC NOTICE.—BOROUGH OF THAMES.

In the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, and the Public Works Act, 1908, and amendments.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Thames (being a body corporate under and by virtue of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, and known as the Thames Borough Council), proposes, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon it by the above-mentioned Acts, to undertake and execute a public work—namely, a road ; and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken.

Notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Thames Borough Council, Albert Street, Thames, and is open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours.

All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands, who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands, must state their objections in writing, and must send the same, within forty days from the 18th day of August, 1922, being the date of the first publication of this notice, to the said Borough Council at the office of the Town Clerk thereof at Albert Street, Thames, aforesaid.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore subsisting between CHARLES EBENEZER JEFFRIES and ARTHUR HENRY FINER, carrying on business as Saddle-manufacturers at Auckland under the style or firm of “Jeffries and Finer,” has been dissolved by mutual consent as from the 1st day of August, 1922. All debts due and owing by the said late firm will be received and paid respectively by ARTHUR HENRY FINER, who will continue to carry on the said business under the style of “Jeffries and Finer.”

MARTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Local Bodies’ Finance Act, 1921-22, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Marton Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :—

That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Marton Borough Council Antecedent Liability Loan of £3,100, 1922, authorized to be raised by the Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of repaying the Council’s antecedent liability as defined by the Local Bodies’ Finance Act, 1921-22, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of seven twenty-fourths of a penny (7/24d.) in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Borough
