in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by the Copyright Act, 1913, and of every other power and authority enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby extend the said Order to Hungary as if that country were amongst the foreign countries of the Copyright Union named in paragraph (1) of the said Order, subject to the following modifications:—

(1.) The provisions of paragraph (2), proviso (iii) (a), of the said Order shall apply as if Hungary were included amongst the foreign countries named in those provisions.

(2.) In the application of the provisions of paragraph (3) of the said Order to works of which the country of origin is Hungary the commencement of this Order shall be substituted for the commencement of the said Act and for the commencement of the said Order.

(3.) In the application to such works of sections 3 (2) (d) and 25 of the Copyright Act, 1913, the commencement of this Order shall be substituted for the commencement of the said Act in section 25 (7) and 25 (8) wherever that expression occurs.

(4.) In the application to such works of section 32 of the Copyright Act, 1913, the commencement of this Order shall be substituted for the commencement of the said Act wherever that expression occurs in subsection (1) (a), and for the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen, in subsection (1) (b).

This Order shall come into operation on the first day of September, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-two, which date is in this Order referred to as the commencement of this Order.

Extending Prohibition of Alienation of certain Native Land other than Alienation in favour of the Crown.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 21st day of August, 1922.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

ON the recommendation of the Native Land Purchase Board, referred to in section three hundred and sixty-three of the Native Land Act, 1909, and in exercise of the power in this behalf conferred upon him by that section, and by section one hundred and eleven of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1913 (as amended by section eight of the Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1916), His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, doth hereby extend for a further period of eighteen months the Order in Council dated the twenty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one, and gazetted the twenty-fourth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one, prohibiting all alienation of the Native land specified in the Schedule hereto other than alienation in favour of the Crown.

Extending Prohibition of Alienation of certain Native Land other than Alienation in favour of the Crown.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 21st day of August, 1922.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

ON the recommendation of the Native Land Purchase Board, referred to in section three hundred and sixty-three of the Native Land Act, 1909, and in exercise of the power in this behalf conferred upon him by that section, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby extend for a further period of six months the Order in Council dated the twelfth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one, and gazetted the fifteenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one, prohibiting all alienation of the Native land specified in the Schedule hereto other than alienation in favour of the Crown.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

ON the recommendation of the Native Land Purchase Board, referred to in section three hundred and sixty-three of the Native Land Act, 1909, and in exercise of the power in this behalf conferred upon him by that section, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby prohibit, for the period of one year from the date of this Order in Council, all alienation of the Native land specified in the Schedule hereto other than alienation in favour of the Crown.

General Harbour Regulations.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 21st day of August, 1922.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the seventh day of May, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 62, of the twenty-second day of the same month, regulations to be known as “General Harbour Regulations” were made under the provisions of the War Legislation and Statute Law Amendment Act, 1918: And whereas it is desirable to amend the said regulations:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the hereinbefore-recited power and authority, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke regulation two of the General Harbour Regulations made on the seventh day of May, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, and doth make the following regulations in lieu thereof.


GENERAL HARBOUR REGULATIONS.

  1. ALL running-gear and all subsidiary appliances, whether such gear and appliances are used on the ship or not, used for shipping or discharging cargo, including coal, on to or from ships, and all scaffolding and gear used on ships undergoing repairs or painting, either in dock or on slip, shall from time to time be inspected by a Surveyor of Ships or other officer appointed for the purpose. Such Surveyor or other officer may prohibit the use of any gear or appliances which he considers unfit for use, or he may order any alterations or repairs that he thinks necessary to be made. The owner shall carry out the order of the Surveyor or other officer, but he may appeal against it to the Marine Department if he thinks fit to do so.
