FEATHERSTON COUNTY COUNCIL.

RIMUTAKA HILL BRIDGES LOAN.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Featherston County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of interest and principal and also other charges on a loan of £2,200, authorized to be raised by the Featherston County Council, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, to enable the Featherston County Council to comply with the Governor-General’s Warrant dated the 26th day of August, 1920, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 2nd September, 1920, No. 78, for the reconstruction of seven bridges on the Rimutaka Hill Road, and approaches thereto, the said Featherston County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-sixtieth (1/60th) of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value of all rateable properties situated within the County of Featherston; and that the said special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the first days of February and August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-half (36½) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

BOROUGH OF DEVONPORT.

ELECTRICITY SUPPLY LOAN, £40,000.—RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Devonport Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £40,000, authorized to be raised by the Devonport Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of purchasing the existing undertaking, plant, and property, &c., of the Electricity Supply Corporation (N.Z.) Limited, the purchase and installation of additional plant, including alterations to existing mains, &c., and the electrification of the Council’s pumping-station at Lake Takapuna, together with alterations to existing machinery, the said Devonport Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of fifteen-sixteenths of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the borough, comprising the whole of the Borough of Devonport; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of fourteen years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

In the matter of DUNN’S CO-OPERATIVE COMPANY (LIMITED).

AT an extraordinary general meeting of the members of the above company duly convened and held at Balclutha, Otago, on the fourteenth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-two, the following extraordinary resolution was duly passed:—
“That it has been proved to the satisfaction of this meeting that the company cannot by reason of its liabilities continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and accordingly that the company be wound up voluntarily; and that DAVID WALLACE and ANDREW STRUTHERS, of Balclutha, be and they are hereby appointed Liquidators for the purpose of such winding-up at a fee of £25.”

This is the notice referred to in the annexed declaration of George Greig Sim, made this 19th day of July, 1922, before me—Robert R. Stewart, a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New Zealand.

In the matter of DUNN’S CO-OPERATIVE COMPANY (LIMITED).
I, GEORGE GREIG SIM, of Balclutha, do solemnly and sincerely declare as follows:—

  1. That I am one of the Directors of the above company.
  2. That an extraordinary general meeting of the company was held on the fourteenth day of July, 1922, at Balclutha.
  3. That the resolution mentioned in the annexed notice marked “A” was duly passed at such meeting.
  4. That David Greenfield Algie was duly appointed Chairman of the said meeting.
  5. That I was present and saw the said David Greenfield Algie sign the said notice annexed hereto, and that the signature set and subscribed to the said notice is of his proper handwriting; and I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true, and by virtue of the provisions of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1908.

NOTICE is hereby given that at a meeting of the members of the above company held on the 7th July, 1922, a special resolution was passed to voluntarily wind up the company, and appointed the undersigned Liquidator.
Creditors are requested, on or before the 31st August, to send full particulars of their debts or claims to the Liquidator, Box 567, Christchurch, or in default may be excluded from all benefit in the dissolution.

THE Partnership heretofore carried on by the undersigned at the corner of Eden Terrace and Flower Street, Auckland, as Motor-body Builders, under the style of “Weaver and Selkirk,” has been dissolved by mutual consent as from the date hereof.
Mr. Selkirk is retiring from the business, which will in future be conducted by Mr. WEAVER under the style of “J. H. Weaver and Co.”
