Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.
Wellington, 11th July, 1922.
THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Board of the Auckland Electric-power District, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

AUCKLAND ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Auckland Electric-power District taken on Wednesday, the 28th June, 1922, on the proposal to raise the sum of £600,000 for electric-power extensions within the Auckland Electric-power District, the following votes were recorded: For the proposal, 4,236; against the proposal, 317; informal, 16.
And I hereby declare the above poll to be carried.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Board of the Kawa Drainage District, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

KAWA DRAINAGE BOARD.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the district of the Kawa Drainage Board was taken on the 4th day of July, 1922, on the proposal of the Kawa Drainage Board to borrow the sum of £500 for the purposes of widening, deepening, making, and improving drains, subsidiary to the main drains, in the Kawa Drainage District, including the purchase of all necessary plant and materials.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 17, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 2.
I therefore declare that the poll was carried.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Council of the Borough of Winton, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

BOROUGH OF WINTON.
Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Winton was taken on the 12th day of July, 1922, at the Borough Council Chambers at Winton, on the proposal to borrow the sum of £3,000 for the purpose of effecting the construction, levelling, channelling, kerbing, and asphalting of footpaths and other street improvements within the borough.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 79, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 43. The number of informal votes recorded was 2.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

to be Returning Officer and person to prepare the roll of electors for the first election of a Board of seven Commissioners for the Leeston Town District, recently constituted under the Town Boards Act, 1908; and also to appoint Thursday, the 3rd day of August, 1922, as the day, and the office of the Ellesmere County Council, Leeston, as the place, for holding such first election; also to appoint Tuesday, the 8th day of August, 1922, at 7.30 o’clock in the afternoon, as the time, and the room of the Agricultural and Pastoral Association, Leeston, as the place, for holding the first meeting of the Board of Commissioners so elected.

Approval of Fees for Licensing of Vehicles fixed by By-laws.—Amuri County Council.

IT is hereby notified, in accordance with section 109 of the Counties Act, 1920, that so much of the by-laws made by the Amuri County Council, and sealed on the 8th day of April, 1922, as appoints the several sums to be paid to the Amuri County funds for the licensing of vehicles plying for hire has this day been approved by His Excellency the Governor-General.

Notice under the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, prohibiting the Sale in the City of Nelson of certain Goods comprised in the Trade of a Grocer.
WHEREAS a petition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the grocers’ shops within the City of Nelson, has been forwarded to me, desiring that the sale of certain goods comprised in the trade of a grocer—namely, tea, coffee, cocoa, sugar, butter, flour, rice, sago, tapioca, biscuits, vinegar, pickles, sauces, jams, oatmeal, cheese, tinned goods, and soaps other than toilet soaps—be prohibited during such times as the said shops are required to be closed in pursuance of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22 :
