Special Conditions.—Selector will be required, before placing any stock upon the holding, to securely ring fence and also to fence off all drains, so as to prevent damage to roads and drains by stock.

The Department reserves the right of entering upon the land at any time for drainage purposes, and of making and deepening drains, without payment of compensation. Selector will be responsible for maintenance of all boundary, catchment, and surface drains within the area.

SECOND-CLASS LAND.

Otorohanga County.—Mangaorongo Survey District.

Section 12, Block XI: Area, 216 acres 0 roods 27 perches. Capital value, £540. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £13 10s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £10 16s.

Weighted with £127 10s., valuation for fencing; to be paid in cash.

Distant about eighteen miles from Otorohanga by formed dray-road, about six miles of which are metalled. A proportion of the area is drainable swamp, balance easy to undulating fern, scrub, and tutu land, partly ploughable. Light soil of fair quality, on sandstone formation; fairly well watered by swampy stream and springs. Altitude, 400 ft. to 500 ft. above sea-level.

Revoking License issued to Edward Goodwin Fortescue Zohrab for the Exclusive Right under Section 46 of the Fisheries Act, 1908, to take Sponges from the Chatham Islands.

JELLICOE, Governor-General.

WHEREAS by license dated the second day of July, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen, Edward Goodwin Fortescue Zohrab, of Wellington (hereinafter called “the licensee”), was granted a license under section forty-six of the Fisheries Act, 1908, and the regulations thereunder, for the exclusive right of taking sponges from the area described in the First Schedule to the said license, and more especially delineated on plan marked M.D. 4285, deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington:

And whereas by Warrant dated the tenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, the hereinbefore-recited license was amended:

And whereas the licensee has applied to have the said license revoked, and it is desirable so to do:

Now, therefore, I, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities enabling me in that behalf, do hereby revoke the hereinbefore-recited license of the second day of July, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen, and the rights and privileges thereby conferred, as from the thirtieth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-two.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 12th day of July, 1922.

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1908, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that the persons set out in the Schedule hereto, being persons holding the office of Postmaster under the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, at the places set opposite their names in the said Schedule, are authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1908.
