Appointing Additional Members to Summit Road Scenic Reserves Board.
JELLICOE, Governor-General.
WHEREAS by a Warrant dated the twenty-fifth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one, and published in the Gazette of the first day of September, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one, the control of certain lands in the Canterbury Land District, known as the Summit Road Scenic Reserves, was vested in certain persons therein named, who were by the said Warrant constituted a Special Board by the name of the Summit Road Scenic Reserves Board, in pursuance of section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 :
And whereas it is considered desirable that the membership of the said Board should be increased :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby appoint
CHARLES REGINALD CLARK, Esq., Land and Estate Agent,
and
ARTHUR WILLIAM JAMIESON, Esq., Manager,
(both of Christchurch), to be additional members of the Summit Road Scenic Reserves Board constituted by the Warrant dated the twenty-fifth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one, hereinbefore referred to.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 12th day of July, 1922.

Member appointed to New Plymouth Scenic Reserves Board.

WHEREAS by a Warrant dated the thirteenth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one, and published in the Gazette of the sixteenth of that month, the control of certain reserves in the Taranaki Land District, known as the Pukemiro, Unairo River, Ratapihipihi, Puketi Pa, Pukerangiora, and Meeting-of-the-Waters Scenic Reserves, were vested in certain persons therein named, who were by the said Warrant constituted a special Board by the name of the New Plymouth Scenic Reserves Board, in pursuance of section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 : And whereas it is desirable that Follett Carrington, Esquire, of New Plymouth, should be appointed a member of the said Board, in place of Stephenson Percy Smith, F.R.G.S., of New Plymouth, deceased :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby appoint the said
FOLLETT CARRINGTON
to be a member of the New Plymouth Scenic Reserves Board constituted by the Warrant dated the thirteenth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one, hereinbefore referred to, in place of the said Stephenson Percy Smith.

Notice of Change of the Purpose of a Reserve in the Town of Hawera, Taranaki Land District.
JELLICOE, Governor-General.
WHEREAS by section six of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), the Governor-General is empowered, in the case of any public reserve vested in His Majesty or the Governor-General for any of the purposes comprised in Class II of the Second Schedule to the said Act, to change the purpose for which such reserve was set apart to any other purpose :
And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto is a reserve duly set apart for the use of the Justice Department, being a purpose within Class II of the Second Schedule to the said Act, and it is expedient to change, as hereinafter provided, the purpose of such reserve so set apart :
Now, therefore, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby, in pursuance of the powers conferred on me by section six of the said Act as aforesaid, declare that the reserve described in the Schedule hereto is hereby changed from a reserve for the use of the Justice Department to a site for a drill-shed. And I do hereby further declare that this notice is issued subject to the provisions of section seven of the said Act, and shall take effect according to the provisions of that section.

TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT.
Lots 29 and 30 of Section 19, Town of Hawera : Area, 1 rood 39 perches.

Opening Lands in Taranaki Land District for Sale or Selection.
JELLICOE, Governor-General.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Friday, the twenty-second day of September, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-two ; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renewable lease ; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1908.
SCHEDULE.
TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Ohura County.—Aria Survey District.
SECTION 6, Block X : Area, 727 acres. Capital value, £910. Occupation with right of purchase : Half-yearly rent, £22 15s. Renewable lease : Half-yearly rent, £18 4s.
Situated on the Waitehena Road. Access is from Ohura Township, which is about eleven miles distant, by metalled road for two miles, the balance being formed dray-road only. The section comprises easy to very steep country, broken in places. Soil is of fair to inferior quality, resting on papa and sandstone. The forest is mixed, comprising tawa, hinau, tawhero, rata, and black birch on the high country, with a dense undergrowth of karamu, kotukutuku, raurekau, ponga, makomako, mahoe, &c. Well watered by small streams. Elevation ranges from 600 ft. to 1,450 ft. above sea-level.
