Authorizing the Laying-off of a Street in the City of Dunedin of a Width less than 66 ft. but not less than 40 ft.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 10th day of July, 1922.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorize the Dunedin City Council to permit the laying-off of a street of a width less than sixty-six feet but not less than forty feet within the area described in the Schedule hereto, it being inexpedient to lay off a street of a width of sixty-six feet in such area.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area of land, situated in the Otago Land District, City of Dunedin, containing by admeasurement 38ยท29 perches, more or less, being Allotments 1 and 2, Block II, Township of Mornington and part Town Belt. As the said area is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 54497, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon bordered blue.

Boundaries of Borough of Winton altered.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 10th day of July, 1922.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS, in pursuance of section one hundred and thirty-three of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, a petition was presented to the Governor-General praying that a certain area be excluded from the County of Southland and included in the Borough of Winton:

And whereas a Commission appointed under the said section held inquiries, and recommended certain alteration of the said area:

And whereas it is deemed expedient to make the alterations of the boundaries of the said borough recommended by the said Commission:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the said Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare that as on and from the first day of October, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-two, the area described in the Schedule hereto shall be excluded from the County of Southland and included in the Borough of Winton.

SCHEDULE.

AREA INCLUDED IN THE BOROUGH OF WINTON.

ALL that parcel of land in the Southland Land District, containing by estimation 344 acres 2 roods 14 perches, more or less, bounded as follows: Commencing at the north-east corner of Section 35, Block I, Town of East Winton, bounded towards the north by the northern boundaries of Sections 35 and 36, Block I, Town of East Winton; towards the west by the west boundary of said Section 36 to its intersection with the flood channel; towards the north-west and west by the said flood channel to its intersection with the north side of Prince Street as shown on Deeds plan No. 32, Southland Registry; again towards the south by the said Prince Street to the north-west corner of the intersection of Prince Street and Jane Street; again towards the west by the west side of Jane Street aforesaid to the south-west corner of the intersection of Jane Street and Mary Street; towards the south by the south side of said Mary Street to its intersection with the said flood channel; again towards the west by the said flood channel to its intersection with the north boundary of Allotment 20, Deeds plan No. 119, Southland Registry; again towards the south by the said boundary of Lot 20
to its north-east corner; again towards the west by the east boundaries of Lots 20, 21, and 22 of Deeds plan No. 119 aforesaid to the south-east corner of the said Lot 22, across a public road, and by the common boundary of Lots 8 and 9 of Deeds plan No. 119 beforementioned to the south-west corner of the said Lot 8; again towards the south by the south boundary of the said Lot 8 to the western boundary of Section 15, Block VI, of the said Town of East Winton; again towards the west by the west boundary of the said Town of East Winton; again towards the west by the west boundary of the said Section 15 to its south-west corner; again towards the south by the south boundary of Sections 15, 14, 13, 12, and 11 of the said Block VI, Town of East Winton, across a public road, and by the south boundary of Section 9, Block V, said Town of East Winton, to the Invercargill-Kingston Railway; towards the north-east by the said railway to the Borough of Winton; towards the north, east, and south by the said Borough of Winton to the Invercargill-Kingston Railway aforesaid; towards the east by the said railway to the north-east corner of Section 49, Block I, Town of East Winton aforesaid; again towards the north by the north boundary of the said Section 49, across a public road, to the place of commencement.

Cancelling Portion of an Order in Council authorizing the Sumner Borough Council to erect Electric Lines within the Borough of Sumner.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 10th day of July, 1922.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by the Public Works Amendment Act, 1911, and of every other power enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby cancel the Order in Council dated the first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 25, of the second day of March, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, authorizing the Sumner Borough Council to erect electric lines within the Borough of Sumner, in so far as such Order in Council relates to the erection of electric lines in that area excluded from the Borough of Sumner and which was described in an Order in Council dated the twenty-fourth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 31, of the thirtieth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one, altering the boundaries of the Borough of Sumner, with the exception of the 3,000-volt line already erected along the Christchurch-Sumner main road, and shown on the plan marked P.W.D. 54706, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured black.

Conferring Extended Powers as a Commissioner of the Native Land Court.

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington, this 10th day of July, 1922

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS pursuant to section seven of the Native Land Act, 1909, Walter Harry Bowler, Esquire, was on the fifth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and ten, appointed to be a Commissioner under the said Act, and it was determined that he should possess and exercise certain powers and functions: And whereas it is desirable to extend such powers and functions:

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers and authority vested in him by the said Act, and of all other powers thereunto enabling, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby determine that the said Walter Harry Bowler shall possess and may exercise all the powers and functions of a Judge of the Native Land Court conferred by the said Act or any amendment thereto (other than those vested
