the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Monday, the twenty-fourth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-two; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1908.

SCHEDULE.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Waimarino County.—Whirinaki Survey District.—Waipapa Valley Block.

SECTION 5, Block XI: Area, 1,576 acres. Capital value, £2,760. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £69. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £55 4s.

Section 2, Block III: Area, 709 acres. Capital value, £1,070. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £26 15s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £21 8s.

Section 5 is situated on the watershed between the Mangatiti and Piraruke Streams. Access from Raetihi Railway-station, which is about twenty-three miles distant—twelve miles metalled road, ten miles formed road, and one mile horse-track. The section comprises hilly and cattle country, all in natural bush; well watered by streams and springs. The altitude ranges from 1,600 ft. to 2,000 ft.

Section 2 is situated on the Mangatiti Road, about twenty-eight miles from Raetihi Railway-station—eleven miles metalled dray-road, thirteen miles unmetalled, and four miles horse-track. All in bush. Well watered by streams. The altitude ranges from 1,000 ft. to 2,000 ft.

Regulations for the Military Forces of New Zealand amended.

JELLICOE, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the Defence Act, 1909, and its amendments, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby amend, in the manner and to the extent set forth in the Schedule hereto, the regulations for the Military Forces of New Zealand made on the twenty-second-day of December, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the twenty-third day of January, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen (hereinafter termed “the general regulations”), and I do hereby declare that the amendments hereby made shall come into force as from the date of publication thereof in the Gazette.

SCHEDULE.

REGULATIONS FOR MILITARY FORCES OF NEW ZEALAND, 1913.

Section V.—Registration, Enrolment, and Posting.

  1. PARAGRAPH 188 of the general regulations is hereby revoked and the following substituted :—

“188. (1.) When any person liable for military training changes his address, he shall notify his change of address as follows :—

(a.) If serving in a Territorial or Senior Cadet unit, by informing his Commanding Officer within fourteen days of such change of address.

(b.) If posted to the Non-effective List, by notifying the nearest Defence Office within fourteen days, if by reason of such change his place of residence is within five miles of an established training-centre.

“(2.) Every such person who fails to notify his change of address as herein required is liable, on summary conviction by a Magistrate, to a fine not exceeding ten pounds.”

  1. Subparagraph (c) of paragraph 221 and subparagraph (c) of paragraph 226 of the general regulations are hereby revoked.

Arrangements for First Election, Orton Drainage District.

as Returning Officer and person to prepare the roll of electors in connection with the first election of the Board of five members of the Orton Drainage District recently constituted under the Land Drainage Act, 1908; also to appoint Saturday, the 10th day of June, 1922, as the date, and the house of Mr. J. Pollock, Orton, as the place, at which such first election shall be held; and Friday, the 16th day of June, 1922, at 2 o’clock in the afternoon, as the time, and the house of the said Mr. Pollock as the place, at which the first meeting of the Board of Trustees so elected shall be held.
