Changing the Purpose of Part of a Reserve in Kongahu Survey District, Nelson Land District.
JELLICOE, Governor-General.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto forms part of a reserve duly set apart for gravel purposes, being a purpose within Class I of the Second Schedule of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, and such land is not vested in trust in any society, body corporate, or trustees:
And whereas it is expedient that such land should be appropriated for a public-school site, being a purpose within Class III of the said Second Schedule:
Now, therefore, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the eleventh section of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, do by this notification declare that the said land shall, from and after the tenth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-two, be appropriated for a public-school site under Class III of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908; and I do hereby direct that this notification shall be published in the New Zealand Gazette.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Nelson Land District, containing by admeasurement 3 acres, more or less, being Lot 2 of Section 3, Block VII, Kongahu Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by Lot 1 of Section 3, 724 links; towards the south-east by a public road, 522 links; towards the south-west by a public road, 425·5 links; and towards the west by Spence’s Road, 601·5 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 6/6/337, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Notice of Change of the Purpose of a Reserve in the Town of Buckley, Hawke’s Bay Land District.
JELLICOE, Governor-General.
WHEREAS by section six of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), the Governor-General is empowered, in the case of any public reserve vested in His Majesty or the Governor-General for any of the purposes comprised in Class II of the Second Schedule to the said Act, to change the purpose for which such reserve was set apart to any other purpose:
And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto is a reserve duly set apart for police purposes, being a purpose within Class II of the Second Schedule to the said Act, and it is expedient to change, as hereinafter provided, the purpose of such reserve so set apart:
Now, therefore, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby, in pursuance of the powers conferred on me by section six of the said Act as aforesaid, declare that the reserve described in the Schedule hereto is hereby changed from a reserve for police purposes to a reserve for Post and Telegraph purposes. And I do hereby further declare that this notice is issued subject to the provisions of section seven of the said Act, and shall take effect according to the provisions of that section.

HAWKE’S BAY LAND DISTRICT.
SECTION 12, Block XIII, Town of Buckley: Area, 1 rood.

Opening Settlement Land in Wellington Land District for Selection.
JELLICOE, Governor-General.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, and amendments, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the settlement land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Monday, the twenty-sixth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-two, at the rental mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said land shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Acts.
SCHEDULE.
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—FIRST-CLASS LAND.
Manawatu County.—Te Kawau Survey District.—Makowai Settlement.
SECTION 11 and part Section 6: Area, 81 acres 3 roods 16 perches; capital value, £3,795; annual instalment on deferred payment (excluding interest), £211; half-yearly rent on lease, £85 7s. 9d.; interest and sinking fund, £16 11s. 6d.*
- Interest and sinking fund on buildings valued at £425, payable in cash, or in twenty-one years by forty-two half-yearly instalments of £16 11s. 6d.; total half-yearly payment on lease, £101 19s. 3d.

Opening Lands in Hawke’s Bay Land District for Sale or Selection.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Tuesday, the eleventh day of July, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-two; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1908.
SCHEDULE.
HAWKE’S BAY LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Wairoa County.—Moeangiangi Survey District.—Awa-o-Totara Block.
SECTION 3, Block VI: Area, 926 acres. Capital value, £4,140. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £103 10s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £82 16s.
Section 10A, Block II: Area, 5 acres. Capital value, £40. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £1. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, 16s.
Weighted with £880, valuation for improvements consisting of one-roomed house, boundary and internal fencing, scrub-cutting, grass-sowing, and plantation.
DESCRIPTION OF SECTIONS.
Section 3, Block VI.—Altitude from 50 ft. to 800 ft. Pastoral-agricultural land, consisting mostly of well-grassed spurs, with an easy slope to the Matahaura Stream, a small portion sloping towards the main road; good native grass. Soil fair, resting generally on clay. Scattered ploughable areas lie at the back of the section along the Matahaura Stream; a small area abutting the main road is ploughable. Well watered, and practically all fenced. Distant about thirty-eight miles from Napier by main Napier-Wairoa Road.
Section 10A, Block II.—Situated on the main Napier-Wairoa Road distant about thirty-eight miles from Napier and about two miles from the Waikare (Putorino) Post-office. The land is flat, of fair quality, and has a fair water-supply. About two-thirds in manuka, and balance in native grass. Would make a good homestead-site.
