the northern boundary of that section to the Waitoa River; then towards the west generally by the Waitoa River to Section 7, Block II; then by the south-eastern boundary of Section 7 and its production to the Morrinsville-Rotorua Railway line; then by that railway-line to its crossing by the Waitoa-Matamata Road; then by this road to Section 40, Block XVI, Waitoa Survey District (school reserve); then by that section and across the road at its northernmost corner to the Morrinsville-Te Aroha Railway line; then by the railway-line to the Waitoa River, and by that river to Section 33, Block XVI aforesaid; then by the southern boundary of Section 33 to the watershed crossing Sections 33 and 32, and by this watershed to the Waitoa River; then by the Waitoa River to the place of commencement.

Altering Boundaries of Otekaike Drainage District, County of Waitaki.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 1st day of May, 1922.

Present:
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of section three of the Land Drainage Act, 1908, a majority of the ratepayers in the area described in the First Schedule hereto, situated in the County of Waitaki, have presented a petition to His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, praying that the land comprised in the said area be excluded from the Otekaike Drainage District as constituted under the provisions of the said Act; And whereas it is expedient to alter the boundaries of such drainage district in manner hereinafter appearing:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority contained in section three of the Land Drainage Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby alter the boundaries of the said Otekaike Drainage District by excluding from such district the area of land described in the said petition and in the First Schedule hereto; and doth hereby declare that the boundaries of the said drainage district, with such alteration as herein provided for, shall be those described in the Second Schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

AREA TO BE EXCLUDED FROM OTEKAIKE DRAINAGE DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Otago Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point on the left bank of the Otekaike River in line with the south-western boundary of Section 46A, Otekaike Settlement, and proceeding thence along the said left bank to the northern boundary of Section 32A; then westerly along that boundary to Otekaike Road, and northerly along the eastern side of said road to the north-eastern boundary of Section 42A; then south-easterly along that boundary to the left bank of the Otekaike River, and north-easterly along said left bank to railway-line; then easterly, southerly, and north-westerly generally along the boundary of the Otekaike Drainage District as defined in the New Zealand Gazette, 1917, page 3177, to the point of commencement.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

OTEKAIKE DRAINAGE DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Otago Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point on the left bank of the Otekaike River in line with the south-western boundary of Section 46A, Otekaike Settlement, and proceeding north-westerly 45 chains and north-easterly 70 chains to the north-eastern boundary of Run 28D, distant 7 chains from the easternmost corner of Run 28C; north-westerly along the north-eastern boundaries of Runs 28D and 28C to Section 31A; along the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 31A, 28A, 26A, the north-eastern boundary of said Section 26A, and the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 8A and 2A to the Waitaki River; down the right bank of that river and up the left bank of the Otekaike River to Section 42A; along the northern boundary of that section, and along the eastern side of the Otekaike Road to the northern boundary of Section 32A; easterly along that boundary to the Otekaike River, and up the left bank of that river to the point of commencement.

ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District bounded by a line commencing at the junction of South Road and Opua Road, and proceeding thence north-easterly along the boundary of the Oaonui Drainage District as defined in the New Zealand Gazette, 1917, page 4234, to the northernmost corner of Subdivision 11, Ngatikahumate Block; then south-easterly along the north-eastern boundary of said Subdivision 11 to the Opua Road, and south-westerly along that road to the south-eastern boundary of Subdivision 9; then along the south-eastern and south-western boundaries of said Subdivision 9 to the Opua Road; then along that road to the northernmost corner of Section 54, Block IX, Opunake Survey District, along the north-eastern and south-eastern boundaries of said Section 54, the south-eastern and south-western boundaries of Section 55, to the south-eastern corner of Section 56; then along the south-eastern boundary of said Section 56 to the South Road, and along that road to the point of commencement.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

OAONUI DRAINAGE DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District bounded by a line commencing at the mouth of the Koteoteo Stream, and proceeding thence along the sea-coast to the western boundary of Section 6, Block XV, Opunake Survey District; along the western boundary of that section to its north-western corner; along the northern boundary of that section and of Section 5 to its north-eastern corner; then along a right line to the intersection of the eastern side of South Road with the northern side of Hitona Road; along the northern side of that road to the southernmost corner of Section 21, Subdivision 3, Ngatitara Block; along the south-eastern and north-eastern boundaries of that subdivision to and across the Oaonui Stream; along the right bank of that stream to Subdivision 30, Ngatitara Block; then along the south-western, north-western, and north-eastern boundaries of that subdivision to Arawhata Road; across that road and along its south-eastern side to Subdivision 16, Ngatikahumate Block; along the north-eastern and south-eastern boundaries of that subdivision and the south-eastern boundaries of Subdivisions 14 and 12; along the north-eastern boundary of Subdivision 11 to Opua Road; south-westerly along that road to the south-eastern boundary of Subdivision 9; along the south-eastern and south-western boundaries of that subdivision to the Opua Road; along that road to the northernmost corner of Section 54, Block IX, Opunake Survey District; along the north-eastern and south-eastern boundaries of said Section 54 and the south-eastern and south-western boundaries of Section 55 to the easternmost corner of Section 56; then along the south-eastern boundary of said Section 56 to the South Road; along that road to the Koteoteo Stream, and down that stream to its mouth, the place of commencement.
