New County of Otorohanga divided into Ridings, &c.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Counties Act, 1920, and the Waikato and King-country Counties Act, 1921–22, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby divide the new County of Otorohanga, as constituted by the said Acts, into five ridings, to be called the Te Rauamoa Riding, the Honikiwi Riding, the Wharepapa Riding, the Mangaorongo Riding, and the Waipa Riding; and declare that the boundaries thereof shall be those set forth in the Schedule hereto.

And I do hereby declare that one member shall be elected for the Te Rauamoa Riding, one member for the Honikiwi Riding, two members for the Wharepapa Riding, two members for the Mangaorongo Riding, and one member for the Waipa Riding. And I do further declare that Thursday, the eleventh day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-two, shall be the day upon which the election of the Council of the said County of Otorohanga shall take place; and Monday, the fifteenth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-two, at half past nine o’clock in the forenoon, shall be the time, and the Town Hall, Otorohanga, shall be the place, at which the first meeting of the said Council shall be held.

SCHEDULE.

TE RAUAMOA RIDING.

ALL that area in the Otorohanga County bounded by a line commencing at the south-western corner of Section 2, Block XIII, Pirongia Survey District, and proceeding northerly and easterly along the county boundary to the Main Trunk Railway; thence south-westerly along that railway to the south-eastern corner of Section 6, Block XIII, Puniu Survey District, and westerly along the southern boundaries of Section 6 aforesaid, Sections 18, 11, 12, Block XVI, Pirongia Survey District, Sections 7, 8, Turoto C 2B, Section 3, Turoto A 2 No. 2, all in Block XV, Pirongia Survey District, to the Moakurarua Stream, up that stream and its tributary the Hakari Stream, thence along the southern boundaries of Sections 12 and 11, Block XIV, and Section 2, Block XIII, Pirongia Survey District, to the place of commencement.

HONIKIWI RIDING.

All that area in the Otorohanga County bounded towards the north by Te Rauamoa Riding hereinbefore described, towards the east by the Main Trunk Railway from the south-eastern corner of that riding to the north-eastern boundary of Otorohanga Town District, thence along the eastern and southern boundaries of that town district to the aforesaid railway, southerly along that railway to the county boundary, and north-westerly and north-easterly generally along that boundary to the south-western corner of Te Rauamoa Riding, the point of commencement.

WHAREPAPA RIDING.

All that area in the Otorohanga County bounded towards the west by the Main Trunk Railway from the southern boundary of Ouruwhero No. 1 to the county boundary; towards the north, east, and south by the county boundary to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Wharepuhunga No. 6 produced to the northern boundary of Maraeroa A 3B; thence to and along that boundary, the south-western boundary of Wharepuhunga No. 17 to its north-western corner, thence along a right line to the south-eastern corner of part Rangitoto A 24B, along the eastern boundary of that block; thence easterly along the southern boundary of Section 6, Block XVI, Mangaorongo Survey District, and the southern boundaries of Rangitoto A 27B, a piece of Crown land, and Rangitoto A 26B to the Mangatutu River; thence down that river to the southern boundary of Rangitoto A 5, along that boundary, the eastern boundary of Rangitoto A 23 and A 22B, along the northern boundaries of Rangitoto A 22B, A 22A, A 24B, A 21A 2B, the north-eastern boundaries of Rangitoto A 15E, A 15D, A 14B 2, A 14B 1, A 14A; thence along the northern boundary of said Rangitoto A 14A to the eastern boundary of Block II, Mangaorongo Survey District; thence due north to the northern boundary of the area shown on deposited plan 7228, along that boundary, the eastern boundary of Section 2, Block II, the south-eastern boundary of Lot 1 of Puketarata 6B 2B to the south-western corner of Section 12, Block XIV, Puniu Survey District; thence along a right line to the road at its intersection with the north-eastern boundary of Lot 1 aforesaid; thence along the said north-eastern and western boundaries of said Lot 1, the eastern boundary of Section 2, the southern boundaries of Sections 9 and 8, Block XIV aforesaid, and along the southern boundary of Ouruwhero No. 1 to the point of commencement.
