land, Cambridge, Clevedon, Devonport, Drury, East Tamaki, Ellerslie, Frankton Junction, Glen Eden, Glen Murray, Hamilton, Hamilton East, Helensville, Henderson, Hikutaia, Hinuera, Huapai, Hunua, Huntly, Kaipara Flats, Karangahake, Kaukapakapa, Kawhia, Kihikihi, Kinohaku, Kumeu, Leigh, Mangapehi, Manurewa, Marokopa, Maramarua, Mata-kana, Matamata, Matiere, Mercer, Morrinsville, Newton, Ngaruawahia, Northcote, Ohaupo, Ohura, Okoroire, Omahu, Onehunga, Onewhero, Ongaruhe, Otahuhu, Otorohanga, Paeroa, Papakura, Papatoetoe, Patumahoe, Pipiroa, Pirongia, Port Albert, Puhoi, Pukekohe, Putaruru, Raglan, Tahuna, Tairua, Takapuna, Taupiri, Te Aroha, Te Awamutu, Te Hana, Te Kuiti, Te Mata, Te Uku, Tirau, Tuakau, Turua, Waerenga, Waihi, Waihou, Waikino, Waimauku, Waiuku, Waiwera, Walton, Warkworth, Wellsford, Whatawhata, and Whitford, are hereby authorized to sign and issue the said licenses.

And I do hereby restrict the number of cock pheasants that may be taken or killed by any one person in any one day to twelve head, and the number of grey duck, black teal, and black swan to twenty-five head in all, and that no live birds of any species shall be used as decoys, nor shall more than twenty-five artificial decoys be used at any one time, whether by one or several persons, on any particular water within an area of less than 100 square yards.

Nothing in any license to take or kill imported game and native game shall authorize the holder thereof to take or kill imported game and native game on lands actually and exclusively used by any registered acclimatization society for acclimatization purposes, or on any sanctuary or public domain, or any land mentioned in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

ADDITIONAL AREAS WHEREIN IMPORTED AND NATIVE GAME SHALL NOT BE KILLED.

  1. ALL that area in the County of Waitemata, bounded on the north by the Wairau Creek from its mouth to the main road from Devonport to Waiwera; on the west by the said road to its junction with the Seaview Road; on the south by that road to the sea; and on the east by the sea to the point of departure.

  2. All those areas at Waitakere, Nihotapu, and Huia, in the County of Waitemata, vested in or under the control of the Auckland City Council for the purposes of waterworks, recreation, or the conservation of the native flora or fauna.

  3. Hen and Chickens Islands.

  4. All that area within a radius of three miles from the General Post Office, Auckland.

  5. Great Barrier Island County.

Shooting Season for Native Game, License Fee, &c., Ashburton Acclimatization District.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, I, William Downie Stewart, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify that the following native game—viz., grey duck, black teal, and black swan—may be taken or killed within the Ashburton Acclimatization District, comprising the County of Ashburton, from the first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-two, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-two, both days inclusive.

And I do further notify that licenses to take or kill such native game within the said district will be issued to any person on payment of the sum of ten shillings (10s.) each; and the secretary of the Ashburton Acclimatization Society, or any person authorized by such secretary in that behalf, is hereby authorized to sign and issue the said licenses.

And I do hereby restrict the number of such native game that may be taken or killed by any one person in any one day to not more than twenty-five head in all.

Nothing in any license to take or kill native game shall authorize the holder thereof to take or kill native game on lands actually and exclusively used by any registered acclimatization society for acclimatization purposes, or on any sanctuary or public domain.

Shooting Season for Imported Game and Native Game, License Fee, &c., Bay of Islands Acclimatization District.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, I, William Downie Stewart, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify that the following imported game and native game—viz., cock pheasants, Californian quail, Australian quail, grey duck, black teal, and black swan—may be taken or killed within the Bay of Islands Acclimatization District, comprising the County of Bay of Islands and part of the County of Hokianga (except in the areas mentioned in the Schedule hereto), from the first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-two, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-two (both days inclusive). And I do further notify that licenses to take or kill such imported game and native game within the said district will be issued to any person on payment of the sum of twenty shillings each; and the Postmasters at Russell, Kohukohu, Kaikohe, Kawakawa, Rawene, Ohacawai, Broadwood, Hukerenui, Opononi, Opua, Taheke, Towai, Waimamakau, Waiotemaramara, Whangape, and Okaihau are hereby authorized to sign and issue the said licenses.

And I do hereby restrict the number of such imported game and native game that may be taken or killed by any one person in any one day to not more than ten cock pheasants, and twenty Californian quail and Australian quail, and twenty grey duck, black teal, and black swan in all.

Nothing in any license to take or kill imported game and native game shall authorize the holder thereof to take or kill imported game and native game on lands actually and exclusively used by any registered acclimatization society for acclimatization purposes, or on any sanctuary or public Domain, or any land mentioned in the Schedule hereto.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, I, William Downie Stewart, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify that the following imported game and native game—viz., hares, grey duck, and black swan—may be taken or killed within the Buller Acclimatization District, comprising the Buller and part of the Inangahua Counties, in the Nelson Land District, bounded towards the north-west generally by a line starting at a point on the Tasman Sea coast at Kohaihai Bluff, in Block XIII, Whakapoi Survey District, and proceeding up a leading spur and along the summit of a range over Mount Domett to Mount Cobb; thence towards the north-east generally by a line along the summit of the western ranges over Mount Snowdon and Mount Peel to Mount Arthur; thence towards the south-east by a line along the summit of a leading range over Mount Luna and along the summit of Lyell Range to Bald Hill; thence by a line down a leading spur on the western side of Eight-mile or Boundary Stream to the mouth of that stream; thence down the left bank of the Buller River and up the right bank of the Inangahua River to a point due north of Mount Haast; thence by a right line to Mount Haast; thence by a right line to the nearest point of the Grey River; thence towards the south-west generally by a line down the middle of the Grey River to its confluence with the Otututu River; thence by a line up the middle of the Otututu River to its source near Mount Faraday; thence by a right line to Mount Faraday; thence towards the south-east by a line along the summit of the Paparoa Range to a point near the source of the Punakaiki or Deadman’s River; thence towards the south-west generally by a right line to that source, and by a line down the middle of that river to the sea; thence towards the north-west by the Tasman Sea to Kohaihai Bluff, the place of commencement, from the first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-two, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-two (both days inclusive). And I do further notify that licenses to take or kill such imported game and native game within the said district will be issued to any person on payment of the sum of twenty shillings each; and the Chief Postmaster of West-port is hereby authorized to sign and issue the said licenses.
