And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken, and of the work to be undertaken is deposited in the public office of the said Council in Cook Street, Tolaga Bay, and is open for inspection, without fee, by all persons during ordinary office hours.
Any person having any objection to the taking of the said land, or who may be injuriously affected by the construction of the said road, is required to state the objection in writing and to send the writing to the office of the Uawa County Council, Cook Street, Tolaga Bay, on or before the fourth day of May, 1922.
SCHEDULE.
Approximate area of land to be taken is 2 roods 35·5 perches, being portion of Section 4, Wigan Settlement, Block VI, Uawa Survey District; coloured brown on plan No. 980.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.
In the matter of the Counties Act, 1920, and the Public Works Act, 1908.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Manukau County Council proposes under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts to execute a certain public work—namely, the formation of a road—and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the said Council, situate at High Street, Auckland, and is open for inspection, without fee, by all persons during ordinary office hours.
All persons affected by the execution of the said public work, or by the taking of such lands, who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands must state their objections in writing and send the same within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the Clerk of the said Council at the said office.
SCHEDULE.
Approximate area of parcels of land required to be taken, 1 acre 3 roods 14·4 perches; being portion of Allotment 19, Parish of Maraetai; coloured on plan, pink; situate in the Parish of Maraetai.

PIAKO COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION STRIKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Piako County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest, and also the other charges on a loan of four hundred pounds (£400) authorized to be raised by the Piako County Council under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for completing the metalling of portion of the Morrinsville–Kereone Road for the first time, the Piako County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-eighth of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value of all rateable property in the Morrinsville–Kereone Special-rating Area, being bounded as follows: Commencing at a point on the Morrinsville–Kereone Road, being the south-west corner of Te Au o Waikato 5B Section 2, thence following the western boundary of the said Section 2 to its north-west corner, and the northern boundary of the same section and Section 1; thence continuing in a direct line due east through Maungatapu D part 2, to the western boundary of Maungatapu B No. 5; thence in a north-easterly direction for a distance of about 40 chains; thence in a direct line due east to the boundary-line between the said Section No. 5 and No. 3; thence in a northerly direction to the most northerly point in the said Section 3; thence in a south-easterly direction for a distance of about 20 chains to the north-west corner of Lot 3/4 and part 2 D.P.C. No. 44, part Maungatapu, Block VIII, Maungakawa S.D.; thence along the northern boundary of that section for about 15 chains; thence in a south-easterly direction through the centre of the said section, and through the centre of Lot 12 of the Whakahongi Estate in an easterly direction, taking in 400 acres of the Whakahongi owned by Kereone Limited; thence in a south-westerly direction through the centre of Lot 18 of 1 D.P.C. No. 44 aforesaid; thence following the south-east boundary of Section Maungatapu B No. 2B to its most southerly point; thence following a line due west through northern part Te Au o Waikato No. 6 to the Piako River; thence following the Piako River in a northerly direction to the Kereone Road; thence to the point of commencement.
And that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
I hereby certify that the above resolution was passed at a meeting of the Piako County Council held on the 20th day of March, 1922.

That for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest, and also the other charges on a loan of fifty pounds (£50) authorized to be raised by the Piako County Council under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for completing the metalling of the northern end of No. 1 Road in the Waitoa Riding for the first time the said county hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-eighth of a penny in the pound sterling upon the rateable value of all rateable properties in the No. 1 Road Special-rating Area, containing the following sections, namely: Sections 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12, Block X, Waitoa S.D., Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, and 8, Block XI, Waitoa S.D.; Section 10, Block VI, Waitoa S.D., and parts Sections 40 and 41, Waitoa Estate. Such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

Notice is further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public offices of the Clerk to the said Council at Waipiro Bay and is open for inspection by all persons during ordinary office hours. All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands, who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of such public work or to the taking of such lands, must state their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the County Clerk at the Council Chambers.
