APPLICATION FOR ALTERATION OF INTAKE AND COURSE OF A WATER-RACE.

(Held under License No. 807R, dated 16/12/1904.)

UNDER THE MINING ACT, 1908.

To the Warden of the Otago Mining District at Roxburgh.

PURSUANT to the Mining Act, 1908, the undersigned, Alfred Henry Tamblyn, of Coal Creek Flat, Roxburgh, Fruitgrower, hereby applies for a license for alteration of intake and course of a water-race as specified in the Schedule hereto, the course whereof has been duly marked out for the purpose.

Precise time of marking out privilege applied for: 31st January, 1922, at 6 p.m.

Date and number of miner’s right: 12th March, 1921; No. 121682.

Address for service: Office of Robert C. Moore, Solicitor, Ross Place, Lawrence.

Dated at Lawrence this 2nd day of February, 1922.

SCHEDULE.

Locality of the alteration of intake and course of race, and of its starting and terminal points: Block V, Teviot District. That the intake of water-race held under License No. 807R, dated the 16th December, 1904, be altered from the present head in Elbow (or Timber) Creek to a point in said creek at the saddle about 30 chains higher up the said creek and about 75 chains from main road from Alexandra to Roxburgh (west side), the course then running south-easterly in water-races formerly held under Licenses Nos. 917R (dated 15/2/1906), 631 (last Renewal License No. 581, 21/10/99), and 632 (last Renewal License No. 580, 28/10/99), through Sections 47 and 33, Block V, Teviot District, and joining said Race No. 807R at the said main road.

Length and intended course of alteration: 75 chains S.E.

Points of intake: One, commencing-point.

Estimated time and cost of construction: Race already constructed (known as Tamblyn’s Water-race).

Mean depth and breadth: 1 ft. 6 in. by 2 ft.

Number of heads to be diverted: Three.

Purpose for which water to be used: Irrigation, domestic.

Proposed term of license: Forty-two years, from 16th December, 1904.
