REGULATIONS.

  1. NOTWITHSTANDING anything contained in the regulations made under the Animals Protection Act, 1908, dated 2nd March, 1922, the Secretary of the Hawke’s Bay Acclimatization Society at Napier, or any person or persons duly authorized in writing by such Secretary, may, during the period hereinafter mentioned, kill red deer of either sex and of any age which, in the opinion of the said Secretary or of the said authorized persons, should be destroyed either by reason of age, deformity, or other physical imperfection.

  2. Such deer may be destroyed as aforesaid during the period from the 1st April to the 30th April, 1922.

  3. A return shall be furnished to the Minister of Internal Affairs by the said Secretary within one calendar month after the expiry of the aforesaid period, and such return shall state the number and sexes of all red deer so destroyed as aforesaid, the dates, and name of person by whom and the locality in which the deer were destroyed.

  4. Nothing herein contained shall extend to authorizing any person to sell any deer or any portion thereof.

  5. Any person who commits a breach of any of the provisions of these regulations shall be liable to a penalty not exceeding £20.

Lands for Sale by Public Auction.

District Lands and Survey Office,
Invercargill, 27th March, 1922.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned lands will be offered for sale by public auction for cash or on deferred payments at the District Lands and Survey Office, Invercargill, at 11 o’clock a.m. on Thursday, the fourth day of May, 1922, under the provisions of the Land Act, 1908, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, and amendments.

The above sections comprise excellent suburban building-sites, adjacent to school, post-office, and railway-station, and only a few chains from Waikiwi-Invercargill tram terminus.

TERMS OF SALE.

The purchaser may pay for the land in cash or by deferred payments extending over a period of nineteen years. The terms are—

(1.) Cash.—One-fifth of the purchase-money on the fall of the hammer, and the balance, with Crown grant fee (£1), within thirty days thereafter.

(2.) Deferred payments.—5 per cent. of the purchase-money and license fee (£1 1s.) on the fall of the hammer; balance by equal annual instalments extending over nineteen years, with interest payable half-yearly at the rate of 5 per cent. per annum on the unpaid purchase-money; but with the right to pay off at any time the whole or any part of the outstanding amount.

In either case, if the purchaser fails to make any of the prescribed payments by due date, whether of purchase-money or interest, the amount already paid shall be forfeited, and the contract for the sale of the land be null and void.

Titles will be subject to section 60 of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1912.

SCHEDULE.

SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SOUTHLAND COUNTY—SUBURBAN LAND.

SECTION 2, Block XI, Town of Waimatuku. Area, 6 acres 1 rood 8 perches; upset price, £60.

This section is suitable for cultivation or dairying.

TERMS OF SALE.

Possession will be given on 1st July, 1922.

The purchaser may pay for the land in cash or by deferred payments extending over a period of nineteen years. The terms are—

Timber for Sale by Public Tender, Wellington Forest-conservation Region.

Office of the Conservator of State Forests,
Wellington, 30th March, 1922.

NOTICE is hereby given that written tenders for the purchase of the undermentioned milling-timber will close at the office of the Conservator of State Forests, Wellington, at 12 o’clock noon on Monday, the 24th day of April, 1922.

SCHEDULE.

ALL the milling-timber on that parcel of land, containing approximately 195 acres, situated in Provisional State Forest Part No. 67, being Section 5, Block XV, Manganui Survey District.

The estimated quantity of milling-timber in superficial feet is 3,514,700, being kahikatea 486,900, rimu 2,569,600 (309,600 burnt), matai 257,000, and miro 201,200.

Upset price, £5,000.

Term, four years from date of sale.

Terms of Payment.—One-tenth of the purchase-money, together with £1 1s. license fee, must accompany the tender, and the balance be paid quarterly, in fifteen equal instalments, from the date of sale.

In addition, the purchaser will require to pay a ground rent of 1s. per acre, payment to be made half-yearly in advance.
