Technical Schools and Classes and Manual-training Classes.
- (a.) In the case of principals of technical schools receiving salaries in accordance with clause 12 of the regulations for salaries and allowances of manual and technical school teachers—
(i.) Not exceeding £550 per annum, a reduction of £15 per annum.
(ii.) Exceeding £550 but not exceeding £750, a reduction of £20 per annum.
(iii.) Exceeding £750 but not exceeding £850, a reduction of £25 per annum.
(iv.) Exceeding £850, a reduction of £30 per annum.
(b.) In the case of assistant teachers of technical schools receiving salaries of Class VI of Division I as defined by the regulations, a reduction of £15 per annum.
(c.) In the case of teachers and instructors of manual and technical schools or classes (other than those included in paragraphs (a) and (b) of this clause) who are entitled to addition to salary for married teachers under clause 16 of the regulations, a reduction of £10 per annum.
(d.) In the case of all teachers and instructors not included in paragraphs (a), (b), and (c) hereof who are receiving salaries of Classes I to V inclusive of Division I, or of Classes III to VI inclusive of Division II, a reduction of £12 per annum.
(e.) In the case of all teachers and instructors not included in the above paragraphs, a reduction of £10 per annum.
Training Colleges and Normal Schools.
- (a.) In the case of principals of training colleges, a reduction of £25 per annum.
(b.) In the case of vice-principals of training colleges or of headmasters of normal schools, a reduction of £15 per annum.
(c.) In the case of assistant lecturers, tutors, librarians, and other assistants of training colleges, or assistant teachers of normal schools, the same reductions, mutatis mutandis, as are provided under paragraph (b) of clause 1 hereof for teachers in public schools.
(d.) In the case of all students of training colleges, a reduction of £10 per annum.

Regulations regarding the Payment of Subsidies on Voluntary Contributions.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 23rd day of February, 1922.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the Education Act, 1914, and the amendments of that Act, and all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby amend the regulations in force relating to the payment of subsidies on voluntary contributions by inserting therein the clause set out in the Schedule hereto; and doth prescribe that this Order shall come into force as from the first day of January, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-two.
SCHEDULE.
CLAUSE 4A. The amount of subsidy payable with respect to any public school, including a district high school, shall not in any financial year exceed 10s. per unit of average attendance at such school for the calendar year preceding the date on which the subsidy is claimed by the Education Board of the district; provided (a) that in the case of any school at which such average attendance is less than sixty a subsidy not exceeding £30 may be paid, and (b) that the limitations herein imposed shall not apply to subsidies on voluntary contributions for the purpose of increasing the actual school accommodation or extending school-sites.

Regulation under the Finance Act, 1919.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 23rd day of February, 1922.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by section fourteen of the Finance Act, 1919 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby make the following regulation for the purposes of the said Act.
REGULATION.
GRADING OF OFFICERS OF POLICE FORCE.
For the purpose of determining the appropriate allowances to be paid under section fourteen of the said Act, officers of the Police Force shall be deemed to be equal in rank to members of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force as set out in the Schedule hereto.

Constable (9 years’ service) .. Corporal.
Sergeant .. Regimental Sergeant-Major.
