Distant about seventeen miles from Te Kawa Railway-station or about twenty-two miles from Te Awamutu by formed dray-roads. About one-third ploughable in patches; balance broken country, with outcrops of rhyolite or sandstone; all covered with fern and scrub. Soil of a light volcanic nature of poor quality, on rhyolite and sandstone formation; well watered by small streams. Altitude, 400 ft. to 800 ft.

Waitomo County.—Pirongia Survey District.

Section 10A, Block VII: Area, 168 acres 1 rood 24 perches. Capital value, £340. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £8 10s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £6 16s.

Distant six miles from Pirongia by formed road. Hilly land, mostly fern spurs. Soil fair to good in quality, on sandstone formation; well watered by streams. Altitude, 300 ft. to 500 ft.

Section 22, Block X: Area, 144 acres 1 rood 36 perches. Capital value, £250. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £6 5s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £5.

Distant about fourteen miles from Pirongia by formed dray-road. Broken country, covered with mixed forest comprising tawa, tawhero, and a few rimu, with heavy undergrowth of konini, makomako, mahoe, &c. Soil of medium quality, on volcanic formation; well watered by small stream. Altitude, 550 ft. to 850 ft.

Opening National-endowment Lands in Auckland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.


JELLICOE, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the national-endowment lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Monday, the twenty-third day of January, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-two, at the rentals mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said lands shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Act.


SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—NATIONAL ENDOWMENT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.

West Taupo County.—Tuhua Survey District.

Section 28, Block XIII: Area, 10 acres 3 roods 9 perches; capital value, £160; half-yearly rent, £3 4s.

Section 30, Block XIII: Area, 10 acres 1 rood 16 perches; capital value, £150; half-yearly rent, £3.

Section 32, Block XIII: Area, 13 acres 0 roods 26 perches; capital value, £170; half-yearly rent, £3 8s.

Situated about one mile and a half from Taumarunui by dray-road. Level to undulating fern and manuka country. Soil of poor quality; watered by small swamps. Altitude, 600 ft. to 650 ft.

Opening Lands in Auckland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.


JELLICOE, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Monday, the twenty-third day of January, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-two, at the rental mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said lands shall be leased under and subject to section one hundred and thirty-five of the said Act, as they contain, or are supposed to contain, metal, mineral, or valuable stone.


SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.

Kawhia County.—Kawhia South Survey District.

Section 6, Block VI: Area, 297 acres; capital value, £670; half-yearly rent, £13 8s.

Section 6, Block VII: Area, 385 acres; capital value, £570; half-yearly rent, £11 8s.

Distant about eleven miles from Kawhia, of which eight miles is by launch to Mahoe Landing, balance by formed bridle-track. Undulating to broken land, covered with mixed forest comprising mostly tawa, tawhero, rewarewa, kohekohe, and rimu, with heavy undergrowth of punga, mahoe, konini, &c. Soil medium to good quality, on limestone formation; well watered by streams. Altitude, 300 ft. to 900 ft.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 2nd day of November, 1921.

Notice of Exchange of Reserve for Land of Equal Value pursuant to Section 6 of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908.


JELLICOE, Governor-General.

WHEREAS by section six of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), the Governor-General is empowered, in the case of any public reserve vested in His Majesty or the Governor-General for any of the purposes comprised in Class II in the Second Schedule to the said Act, to exchange any of the land comprised in such reserve to be dedicated to one or more of the purposes comprised in the said Class II:

And whereas the land described in Part I of the Schedule hereto was duly set apart as a site for a police-station, being a purpose within Class II in the Second Schedule to the said Act, and it is expedient that the said land should be exchanged for the Crown land of equal value described in Part II of the Schedule hereto, and that the land last referred to should be dedicated as a site for a police-station:

Now, therefore, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby, in pursuance of the powers conferred on me by section six of the said Act as aforesaid, declare that the land described in Part I of the Schedule hereto is hereby exchanged for the land of equal value described in Part II of the Schedule hereto; and, further, that the land described in Part II of the Schedule hereto is hereby dedicated as a site for a police-station (being a purpose comprised in Class II of the Second Schedule of the Act). And I do hereby further declare that this notice is issued subject to the provisions of section seven of the said Act, and shall take effect according to the provisions of that section.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the fourth section of the Cemeteries Act, 1908, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint the several persons whose names are specified in Part I of the Schedule hereto to have the control and management of the public cemetery specified in Part II of the said Schedule.
