by the Chief Inspector; and that all due precautions are
taken to prevent accident by fire or explosion."
3. Clause 6 of the said regulations is hereby amended by
adding to paragraph (c) the following proviso :—
“ Provided that no such label shall be required for
petroleum oil, turpentine or turpentine substitutes, packed in
approved metal vessels each containing not more than four
and one-sixth gallons, and contained in an approved tightly
fitting outer package containing not more than two such
vessels.”
4. Clause 8 of the said regulations is hereby amended by
omitting the words “ the 1st day of October, 1921,” wherever
those words occur, and in each case substituting the words
“ the 1st day of January, 1922.”

Amending Regulations under the Rotorua Town Act, 1907.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 27th day of
September, 1921.

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.
WHEREAS by the Rotorua Town Act, 1907 (hereinafter
termed “the said Act”), provision is made for the
management of the Town of Rotorua by the Department of
Tourist and Health Resorts, and the said Department is, in
respect of the said town, created a body corporate:
And whereas, in exercise of the power conferred by the
said Act, certain regulations were made on the eleventh day
of April, one thousand nine hundred and eight, and published
in the New Zealand Gazette of the sixteenth day of April then
instant, for the purposes of the said Act, and it is expedient
to amend the said regulations in the manner hereinafter
appearing:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General, in
pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on that behalf
by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby amend the said recited regulations as follows.
AMENDMENT.
SUBCLAUSE (5) of clause 16 of the said regulations is hereby
amended by omitting the proviso and substituting the following in lieu thereof, viz:—
“Provided that the total proceeds of such fee shall not
exceed a sum equal to such amount as will, in the opinion of
the Department, be sufficient to cover the estimated expenditure for the year in respect of the service for which the fee is
charged, and provided that such fee be charged only upon
such properties as have a building erected thereon from which
the Department is prepared to attend to the cleansing of
closets and privies.”

Gates at Roulston Park as a Permanent War Memorial.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 25th day of

His Excellency The Governor-General in Council.
N pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
conferred upon him by section fifteen of the Finance
Act, 1919 (hereinafter referred to as “the said section”),
His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New
Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve
of the provision by the Pukekohe Borough Council of
memorial gates as a permanent war memorial, as provided by
the said section; and, with the like advice and consent,
doth hereby approve of the erection of such gates in that
portion of the Borough of Pukekohe described in the Schedule
hereto.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, being
portion of Roulston Park, Pukekohe Borough, bounded on
the south-east by East Street, 25 links; on the south-west
by Franklin Road, and on the north by the other part of
Roulston Park, 35 links; all linkages being a little more
or less.

Declaring Portions of Road in Crownthorpe Settlement, Hawke's
Bay County, to be County Roads.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 25th day of
October, 1921.

His Excellency The Governor-General in Council.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by
the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that
the portions of road described in the Schedule hereto shall,
on and after the date of this Order in Council, become
county roads.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that road in the Hawke's Bay Land District, Hawke's
Bay County, commencing at its junction with the Whanawhana Road at the south-east corner of Section 3s, Crownthorpe Settlement, and proceeding thence generally in a northerly direction, adjoining or passing through the said
Section 3s and Sections 6s, 7s, 8s, and 9s, Crownthorpe
Settlement, and part Section 5, Shereden Settlement, to its
junction with the Matapiro Road ; being a distance of 4 miles
10 chains, more or less.
Also all that portion of road in the said land district, county,
and settlement commencing at its junction with the road
hereinbefore described, on the eastern boundary of Section
6s, and proceeding thence generally in a north-easterly
direction, adjoining or passing through Sections 5s, 12s, and
15s, Crownthorpe Settlement, and terminating at the north-east corner of the said Section 15s; being a distance of
3 miles 40 chains, more or less.
As the said portions of road are more particularly delineated
on the plan marked P.W.D. 53024, deposited in the office
of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the
Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured green and
lettered A–B and C–D respectively.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 26th day of

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon him by the Public Works Act, 1908,
His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of
New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby
direct the sale of the land described in the Schedule hereto,
such land being no longer required for the public work for
which it was acquired.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land directed to be sold:

Being Section 14, Block IX, Town of Manapouri.
In the Southland Land District; as the same is more
particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 52827,
deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at
Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon
edged red.
