Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Council of the County of Westland, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

WESTLAND COUNTY COUNCIL.

Kakapotahi Bridge Loan Poll.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the Kakapotahi Bridge Rating District of the County of Westland taken on the 22nd day of September, 1921, on the proposal of the Westland County Council to borrow a sum of £1,500 for the purpose of erecting Kakapotahi River Bridge, South Westland, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 87, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 37.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

PAHIATUA COUNTY COUNCIL.

Result of Poll on the Proposal to strike a Special Rate to be called a Bridge Rate.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the County of Pahiatua taken under section 23 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, on the 13th day of September, 1921, on the proposal of the Pahiatua County Council to strike a special bridge rate to be called a bridge rate, and not exceeding in any one year the amount of one farthing in the pound on the capital value of all rateable property in the said county, to provide funds for the reconstruction or renewing of bridges exceeding 30 ft. in span on roads under the jurisdiction of the Pahiatua County Council.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 394, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 83.

I therefore declare the proposal carried.

New Zealand Inscribed Stock Act, 1917.—Closing of Registers

NOTICE is hereby given that the register of 4½-per-cent. Inscribed Stock, maturing 15th November, 1938, and the register of New Zealand 5-per-cent. Inscribed Stock, maturing 15th November, 1927, will be closed from the 1st November to the 15th November, 1921, inclusive, for the purpose of the issue of half-yearly interest.

Defining Extreme Limits for Opotiki.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by section 189 of the Shipping and Seamen Act, 1908, I, William Downie Stewart, for the Minister of Marine, do hereby define the extreme limits for the Port of Opotiki within which restricted-limit steamships and ships propelled by gas, oil, fluid, electricity, or mechanical power other than steam, and to which restricted-limit certificates are issued, may ply to be those set forth herein.

Extreme Limits.—Between Cape Runaway and Motiti Island.

Notice fixing the Closing-hours of all the Tailors’ Shops in the Borough of Blenheim, under the Shops and Offices Act, 1908.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the tailors’ shops in the Borough of Blenheim, has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops in the borough be closed in the evening of working-days as follows: On Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, at 6 p.m., on Fridays at 9 p.m.; in the evening of the working-day first preceding Christmas Day there shall be no fixed closing-hour; in the evening of the working-day that first precedes Good Friday the closing-hour shall be 9 p.m.:

And whereas, I, George James Anderson, Minister of Labour, am satisfied that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the tailors’ shops within the Borough of Blenheim:
