Altering Boundaries of Woodville and Pohangina Counties.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS it is provided by subsection two of section fourteen of the Counties Act, 1920, that the boundaries of any one or more counties may be altered in accordance with a resolution proposing the alteration passed by the Council of each of such counties in which the principal Act is in force :
And whereas a resolution was passed by the Woodville County Council on the fifth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one, and sealed with the seal of the Council of the said county on the nineteenth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one :
And whereas a similar resolution was passed by the Pohangina County Council on the fourteenth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one, and sealed with the seal of the said county on the fourteenth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one, praying for the alteration of the boundaries of such counties in the manner described in the said resolutions and in the First Schedule hereto :
And whereas it is expedient to make such alteration in accordance with the said resolutions :
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred on me by the said Act, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the area described in the First Schedule hereto, being now part of the Pohangina County, shall, as on and from the first day of November, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one, be deemed to be added to and form part of the Woodville County; and, with the like power and authority, do proclaim and declare that the boundaries of the Counties of Woodville and Pohangina respectively shall, as from the aforesaid date, be those set forth under their respective headings in the Second Schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE.
AREA TO BE ADDED TO WOODVILLE COUNTY.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District bounded by a line commencing at the north-western corner of Section No. 10, Block IV, Gorge Survey District, and proceeding thence in an easterly direction along the northern boundary-lines of the said Section No. 10 and Section No. 8 and part of No. 6 to the south-western corner of Section No. 7 of the aforesaid survey district; thence towards the north generally by the north-western boundary-lines of Sections Nos. 7, part of 6, part of 1, 2, and again by part of 1 to the north-western corner of the last-mentioned section; again towards the east by the north-eastern boundary-lines of Sections Nos. 1, 6, and 4 to the north-eastern corner of the said Section No. 4; thence towards the south-west by the south-eastern boundary-lines of Sections Nos. 4, 6, 10, and 11 of Block IV, Gorge Survey District, and the production thereof to the middle of the Manawatu River; thence towards the west generally by a line along the middle of the Manawatu River to a point opposite the south-eastern corner of Section No. 2 of Subdivision X of the Manchester Block; thence towards the north-east by a right line to and by the eastern boundary-line of the said Section No. 2 to the north-western corner of Section No. 10, Block IV, Gorge Survey District, the place of commencement.

SECOND SCHEDULE.
BOUNDARIES OF WOODVILLE COUNTY.
ALL that area in the Hawke’s Bay and Wellington Land Districts commencing at Trig. Station 85 in the Ruahine Range, and proceeding thence in an easterly direction along the northern boundary of the forest reserve to the Oruakeretaki Stream, along the aforesaid stream to its intersection with the northern boundary of Section 50, Block I, Woodville Survey District; thence easterly along the northern boundaries of Sections 50, 51, and 54, Block I aforesaid, to a public road, across that road, and along the northern boundary of Section 13 to its intersection with the Oruakeretaki Stream; thence along that stream to its confluence with the Manawatu River; thence southerly along the right bank of that river to its confluence with the Otope Stream; thence easterly and southerly along the Otope Stream to its intersection with a public road forming the south-eastern boundary of the Otawhao Block, along the western side of that road to and along the south-eastern boundary of the aforesaid block to the most northerly corner of Section 38, Block XIV, Tahoraite Survey District; thence easterly along the northern boundaries of Sections 38, 39, and 40, Block XIV, Tahoraite Survey District, Section 1, Block XV, Tahoraite Survey District, to a public road forming the eastern boundary of the said Section 1; then southerly along the western side of that road to a point in line with the northern boundary of Section 9, Block XV, Tahoraite Survey District, across the road, and easterly along that boundary to the north-eastern corner of the aforesaid Section 9; thence southerly along the eastern boundary of Sections 9 and 8, and along the eastern side of the rabbit fence reserve to the Wellington Land District, and westerly along the northern boundary of that district to a point in the centre of the Manawatu River; thence westerly along the centre of that river to a point opposite the south-eastern corner of Section 2, Subdivision X, of the Manchester Block; thence northerly along the eastern boundary of that subdivision to the south-western corner of Section 9, Block IV, Gorge Survey District; thence easterly along the northern boundaries of Sections 10, 8, and 6, the western boundaries of Sections 7, 6, and 1 to the north-western corner of Section 1, Block IV aforesaid; thence easterly along the northern boundaries of Sections 1, 6, and 4, Block IV aforesaid, to the north-eastern corner of Section 4; then northerly along the eastern boundary of Sections 13 and 11 to a public road, across that road, and by the eastern boundaries of Sections 5 and 2 and a forest reserve to Wharite Trig., Block II, Gorge Survey District; thence northerly by the eastern boundaries of Sections 5, 2, 3, and 4 to Trig. B, Ruahine Range; and thence by the summit of the Ruahine Range to Trig. 85, the point of commencement.
BOUNDARIES OF POHANGINA COUNTY.
All that area in the Wellington Land District bounded on the west and north generally by the middle of the Orua River from the westernmost corner of Section 2, Block XII, Orua Survey District, to its intersection with the south-western boundary of Awarua 1a No. 3 South; thence on the north-east by that boundary to Te Hekenga Trig. and the production thereof to the summit of the Ruahine Range; thence towards the east generally along the summit of the Ruahine Range to Trig. Station 85, and along the western boundary of the Woodville County hereinbefore described to the south-western corner of Section 9, Block IV, Gorge Survey District; thence northerly along the western boundaries of Section 9, Block IV, and Section 3, Block II, to a public road, across that road, and along the western boundary of Section 1, Block II, Gorge Survey District; thence north-west along the south-western boundaries of Sections 1, 27, 39, and 29, Block XIV, Sections 44, 43, 41, 40, 39, and 34, Block IX, and Sections 11 and 10, Block XII, Orua Survey District, to and along the public road forming the south-western boundaries of Sections 10, 9, 1, and 2, Block XII, Orua, to the place of commencement.
