Engine-driver disqualified.

WHEREAS it is provided by section 50 of the Inspection
of Machinery Act, 1908, that where it appears to
the Board of Examiners constituted under section 48 of the
said Act that the holder of a certificate under the said Act
is guilty of any offence or misconduct which would render
him unfit to be trusted to efficiently perform his duties as
such holder the Board may call upon him to show cause why
he should not be disqualified, and if he fails to show cause
the Board may report the matter to the Minister, who, by
notice in the Gazette, may disqualify him for such period as
he thinks fit, and during the period of disqualification he shall
be deemed not to be the holder of such certificate :

And whereas a report has been received from the Board
of Examiners, constituted as hereinbefore stated, that the
offence of William Victor Hill is such as to render him unfit
to be trusted to efficiently perform his duties as a winding-
engine driver :

Now, therefore, I, Francis Henry Dillon Bell, Minister in
Charge of the Marine and Inspection of Machinery Depart-
ment, in pursuance of the powers conferred upon me by sec-
tion 50 of the Inspection of Machinery Act, 1908, do hereby

driver and have charge of steam winding-engines
and boilers ; and

(2.) Electric winding-engine driver’s certificate of com-
petency No. 62, issued to him by the said Board
on the 23rd May, 1916, and authorizing him to act
as driver of electric winding-engines ;

such disqualification to continue until the 6th day of No-
vember, 1921 ; and during the period of disqualification he
shall be deemed not to be the holder of the said certificates
Nos. 540 and 62.
