THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

And whereas a petition, signed by a majority of the rate-payers of the said river district, has been presented to the Governor-General, after having been publicly notified in the said river district for not less than thirty days, praying that the Council of the County of Geraldine shall be declared to be the River Board of the said district, the limits whereof are entirely included within the limits of the County of Geraldine :

And whereas a resolution of the Geraldine County Council concurring in the prayer of the aforesaid petition has been transmitted to the Governor-General :

And whereas it is deemed advisable to declare the said Geraldine County Council to be the River Board in respect of the said river district :

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and eighteen of the said Act, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare the Geraldine County Council to be the River Board of the said river district; and that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the first day of October, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand; and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this 27th day of September, 1921.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section eleven of the Land Act, 1908, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim as a road the land in the Benger Survey District described in the First Schedule hereto; and also do hereby proclaim as closed the road described in the Second Schedule hereto.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the additional land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the Mania Branch of the Eltham-Opunake Railway.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and the Public Works Amendment Act, 1909, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare the land described in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land subject to the Land Act, 1908.
