THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.
His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, doth hereby extend for a further period of six months the Order in Council dated the twentieth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and twenty, and gazetted the twenty-third day of September, one thousand nine hundred and twenty, but only in so far as it affects the Native lands specified in the Schedule hereto, prohibiting all alienation other than alienation in favour of the Crown.

Opunake Electric-power Board.-First Election.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 5th day of September, 1921.

His Excellency The Governor-General in Council.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Electric-power Boards Act, 1918, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint Monday, the twenty-sixth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one, as the day on which shall be held the first election of the representatives of the constituent districts in the Opunake Electric-power District, being an electric-power district duly constituted by Proclamation dated the ninth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 77, of the eighteenth day of the same month.

Prescribing the Term for which the Patangata County Council may borrow the sum of £199,000, being the Balance of a Loan of £209,000 proposed to be raised for the Purpose of renewing all Bridges in the County, Bridge Plant, &c.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 5th day of September, 1921.

His Excellency The Governor-General in Council.
WHEREAS section eleven of the Finance Act, 1921, provides that, notwithstanding anything to the contrary in any Act or in any rule of law, where a local authority or public body has been authorized before the passing of the said Act, or is thereafter authorized, to borrow money, whether pursuant to a poll of ratepayers or otherwise howsoever, at a specified rate of interest, or for a specified term exceeding ten years, and such money or any part thereof has not been borrowed, the local authority may, with the precedent consent of the Minister of Finance, borrow such money, or such amount thereof as has not been borrowed, at such rate of interest, or for such term not less than ten years, as may be prescribed by the Governor-General by Order in Council;
And whereas the Patangata County Council has been authorized to borrow the sum of two hundred and nine thousand pounds for renewing all bridges in the county, bridge plant, &c., on conditions requiring the debentures to be repayable on the first day of October, one thousand nine hundred and fifty-seven, and has been unable to raise the money;
And whereas the Minister of Finance has given his precedent consent as required by the above-recited section eleven, and it is desired that the term for which the one hundred and ninety-nine thousand pounds, being the balance of the loan of two hundred and nine thousand pounds, may be borrowed be amended to not more than fifty years from the first day of October, one thousand nine hundred and twenty:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby prescribe that the term for which the Patangata County Council may borrow the said one hundred and ninety-nine thousand pounds shall be not more than fifty years from the first day of October, one thousand nine hundred and twenty, and the said Patangata County Council is hereby authorized to borrow the said sum of one hundred and ninety-nine thousand pounds accordingly.
