Confering Jurisdiction on the Native Land Court under Section 25 of the Native Land Act, 1909.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 22nd day of August, 1921.

Present :

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.

WHEREAS by section twenty-five of the Native Land Act, 1909, it is enacted that, in addition to the jurisdiction elsewhere in the said Act conferred upon the Native Land Court, the Governor-General may by Order in Council confer upon the Court, as effectually as if the same was conferred by the said Act, jurisdiction in any matter or question affecting the rights of Natives in any real or personal property, and thereupon the Court shall have full jurisdiction and power to determine that matter or question according to law:

And whereas application has been made that jurisdiction be conferred on the Native Land Court, pursuant to the said section twenty-five, for the purpose of ascertaining the persons entitled to a sum of money held by the Te Araroa Sheep-farmers’ Co-operative Trading Company (Limited), being the proceeds of the sale of certain sheep lately depasturing on the Waione Station on Whetumatarau Block:

And whereas it is expedient to confer such jurisdiction accordingly:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by section twenty-five of the Native Land Act, 1909, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby confer upon the Native Land Court jurisdiction to hear and determine who are the persons entitled to the sum of money as aforesaid (being the proceeds of the sale of certain sheep lately depasturing on Waione Station on Whetumatarau Block), and to make such order or orders in that behalf as to the Court shall seem fit.

Extending Prohibition of Alienation of certain Native Land other than Alienation in favour of the Crown.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 22nd day of August, 1921.

Present :

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.

ON the recommendation of the Native Land Purchase Board, referred to in section three hundred and sixty-three of the Native Land Act, 1909, and in exercise of the power in this behalf conferred upon him by that section, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, doth hereby extend for a further period of six months the Order in Council dated the sixth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and twenty, and gazetted the ninth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and twenty, prohibiting all alienation of the land specified in the Schedule hereto other than alienation in favour of the Crown.

Extending Prohibition of Alienation of certain Native Land other than Alienation in favour of the Crown.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 22nd day of August, 1921.

Present :

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.

ON the recommendation of the Native Land Purchase Board, referred to in section three hundred and sixty-three of the Native Land Act, 1909, and in exercise of the power in this behalf conferred upon him by that section, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, doth hereby extend for a further period of six months the Order in Council dated the thirteenth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and twenty, and gazetted the sixteenth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and twenty, but only in so far as it affects the land specified in the Schedule hereto, prohibiting all alienation other than alienation in favour of the Crown.
