Notifying the Proposed Exchange of Crown Land in the
Wellington Land District for other Land.
JELLICOE, Governor-General.
WHEREAS by section one hundred and forty-two of
the Land Act, 1908, as amended by section six
of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1920, it is enacted that
it shall be lawful for the Governor-General, whenever he
deems it expedient in the public interest, to grant in fee-
simple any area of Crown land which is subject to the
provisions of the Land Act, 1908, in exchange for the fee-
simple of any other land, and on any such exchange to pay
or receive any sum by way of equality of exchange:
And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor-General, it
is expedient to exchange the Crown land described in the
First Schedule hereto for the land of equal value described
in the Second Schedule hereto, and the owner of the land
described in the Second Schedule has agreed to such
exchange:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the aforesaid
powers and authorities, doth hereby declare that it is his
intention to grant in fee-simple the area of Crown land
described in the First Schedule hereto in exchange for the
fee-simple of the land described in the Second Schedule.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
DESCRIPTION OF LAND AUTHORIZED TO BE EXCHANGED.
ALL that area, containing by admeasurement 3 roods 30
perches, be the same a little more or less, being Section 8,
Block XV, Mangaone Survey District.
Also all that area, containing by admeasurement 1 rood
39.2 perches, be the same a little more or less, being Sec-
tion 9, Block XV, Mangaone Survey District.
As the same are more particularly delineated on the plan
marked 259/29, deposited in the office of the Chief
Surveyor at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
DESCRIPTION OF LAND TO BE OBTAINED IN EXCHANGE
THEREFOR.
ALL that area, containing by admeasurement 2 acres 2 roods
20.3 perches, be the same a little more or less, being part
of Section 15, Block XV, Mangaone Survey District. As the
same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked
259/29, deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor at
Wellington, and thereon coloured red.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General, this 8th day of August, 1921.

Opening Lands in Auckland Land District for Selection on
Renewable Lease.
JELLICOE, Governor-General.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, John
Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Do-
minion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the national-
endowment lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be
open for selection on renewable lease on Tuesday, the twenty-
seventh day of September, one thousand nine hundred and
twenty-one, at the rentals mentioned in the said Schedule;
and I do also declare that the said lands shall be leased
under and subject to the provisions of the said Act.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.—
NATIONAL ENDOWMENT.
Hauraki Plains County.—Waitoa Survey District.
SECTION 5, Block I : Area, 512 acres; capital value, £400;
half-yearly rent, £8.
Weighted with £50, valuation for improvements compris-
ing small whare (in bad repair), clearing, and fencing. To
be paid in cash.
Situated about five miles and a quarter from Patetonga
and twenty-two miles from Morrinsville by fair road. Undu-
lating to broken land in fern and tea-tree. Soil of second-
class quality, on sandstone formation; well watered by
small streams. Altitude, 100 ft. to 400 ft. above sea-level.
Coromandel County.—Harataunga Survey District.
Section 2, Block III: Area, 436 acres; capital value, £330;
half-yearly rent, £6 12s.
Weighted with £80, valuation for improvements (clearing,
grassing, fencing). To be paid in cash.
Situated about two miles and a quarter from Cabbage Bay
Post-office by good cart-road. Broken country, mostly
covered with mixed forest comprising tawa and rata, with
undergrowth of whitewood, punga, &c. Inferior clay soil,
on clay formation; well watered by streams. Altitude,
150 ft. to 350 ft. above sea-level.
Ohinemuri County.—Ohinemuri Survey District.
Section 32, Block XV: Area, 60 acres 2 roods 19 perches;
capital value, £120; half-yearly rent, £2 8s.
Situated two miles and a half from Waihi Railway-station
by formed cart-road, mostly metalled. Level to undulating
and hilly land in fern and tea-tree, all ploughable. Soil
light sandy loam, on clay formation; poorly watered by
springs. Altitude, 350 ft. to 400 ft. above sea-level.

Opening Education Reserve in Wellington Land District for
Selection on Renewable Lease.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, and the
Education Reserves Amendment Act, 1910, I, John Rush-
worth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion
of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the education
reserve described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for
selection on renewable lease for the term of thirty-three
years, with right of renewal for successive periods of thirty-
three years, on Tuesday, the twenty-seventh day of Septem-
ber, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one, at the rental
mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that
the said reserve shall be leased under and subject to the
provisions of the said Acts.
SCHEDULE.
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Rangitikei County.
SECTION 15, Block I, Hautapu Survey District: Area, 384
acres. Also Sections 34 and 35, Block XIII, Ohinewairua
Survey District: Area, 10 acres 0 roods 5 perches. Capital
value, £3,160. Half-yearly rent, £63 4s.
Situated on the Otaihape Stream, three miles from Taihape
by a formed dray-road known as the new Otaihape Road,
two miles being metalled and one mile being clay road. The
soil consists of light loam, resting on papa and sandstone
formation. The forest comprises mixed bush, from which
milling-timber has been removed. There is the usual amount
of undergrowth. Land is well watered by streams.

General, this 2nd day of August, 1921.

Secondary-education Endowment Land in Block I, Invercargill
Hundred, Southland Land District, set apart as an Addition
to a Site for a Boys' High School.
JELLICOE, Governor-General.
WHEREAS by section five of the Education Reserves
Amendment Act, 1911, it is enacted that the Governor-
General may, on the recommendation of the Land Board of
the district in which are situated any reserves or endowments
vested in the Crown by or in pursuance of section two of the
Education Reserves Amendment Act, 1910, set apart as sites
for public schools, secondary schools, or technical schools any
part of such reserves or endowments:
And whereas the Land Board of the Southland Land
District has duly passed a resolution recommending that the
portion of the secondary-education endowment described in
the Schedule hereto should be set apart as an addition to
a site for a boys' high school, and it is expedient to give
effect to such recommendation:
