I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act,
1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers
of the Borough of Ngaruawahia taken on the 19th day of
July, 1921, on the proposal of the Ngaruawahia Borough
Council to borrow the sum of £1,500 for street-formation and
engineering charges incurred in ascertaining the permanent
levels of streets in the borough, the number of votes recorded
for the proposal was 128, and the number of votes recorded
against the proposal was 11.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the
Council of the County of Wairoa, is published in ac-
cordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act,
1913.

WAIROA COUNTY COUNCIL.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913,
I hereby notify that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Mohaka
Riding of the Wairoa County taken on Saturday, the 16th
day of July, 1921, on the proposal of the Wairoa County
Council to borrow the sum of £3,800 for forming and metalling
about four miles and a half of a deviation in the Napier-
Wairoa Road, between Mohaka and the new traffic-bridge
site on the Mohaka River, the number of votes recorded was
as follows: For the proposal, 38; against the proposal, 6;
informal, nil.
I therefore declare the proposal to be carried.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block V, Waiawa Survey
District, for the Purposes of a Road.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the
provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute
a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road
in Block V, Waiawa Survey District; and for the purposes
of such public work the land described in the Schedule
hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further
given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is
deposited in the post-office at Toatoa, and is there open
for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execu-
tion of the said public work or by the taking of the said
land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to
the execution of the said public work or to the taking of
such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such
writing, within forty days from the first publication of
this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, the Scenery
Preservation Act, 1908, and the Scenery Preservation Amend-

hereto for scenic purposes. And notice is hereby further
