Forfeiture of Land in Southland Land District rescinded.

NOTICE is hereby given that the forfeiture of Sections 46 and 47, Block VIII, Waiawa Survey District, Southland Land District, notified on page 1166 of the Gazette of the 12th May, 1921, has been rescinded.

Pastoral Runs classified in Otago Land District.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Commissioners appointed to classify and report upon runs in the Otago Land District have classified the pastoral runs in the Schedule hereto as therein noted, and the classification has been approved by His Excellency the Governor-General, in terms of section 225 of the Land Act, 1908.


SCHEDULE.

Class A.—Pastoral Land.

Being Lands suitable exclusively for Pasturage and not capable of being used with Profit in Areas of a Carrying-capacity of less than 5,000 Sheep.

Runs 179, 163, 163A, Tuapeka County (Crown land): Area, 16,200 acres.

Run 206B, Maniototo County (national-endowment land): Area, 12,200 acres.

Runs 458 and 468, Lake County (Crown land): Area, 57,400 acres.

North portion 333A, Lake County (Crown land): Area, 14,460 acres.

South portion 333A, Lake County (Crown land): Area, 14,320 acres.

Run 333, Lake County (Crown land): Area, 51,560 acres.

Class B.—Pastoral-agricultural Land.

Being Lands adapted in Part for Pasturage and in Part for Agricultural Purposes, but suitable for Subdivision in Areas not exceeding 5,000 Acres.

Pastoral License No. 1181, Sections 79/94, Lake County (Crown land), Earnslaw Survey District: Area, 836 acres.

Run 200E, Tuapeka County (Crown land): Area, 4,670 acres.

Run 200P, Tuapeka County (Crown land): Area, 4,945 acres.

Land in Wellington Land District for Sale or Lease to Discharged Soldiers.

District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 11th July, 1921.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned land is open for sale or lease under the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, and the regulations thereunder; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Wellington, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Tuesday, the 27th day of September, 1921.

The land may be purchased for cash or on deferred payments, or selected on lease for thirty-three years, with a right of renewal for further successive terms of thirty-three years and a right to acquire the freehold.

Applicants must appear personally before the Land Board for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Wellington, on Wednesday, the 28th day of September, 1921, at 10 o’clock a.m.

The ballot will be held at the conclusion of examination of applicants.


SCHEDULE.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—FIRST-CLASS LAND.

Pihauta Settlement.—Featherston County.—Wairarapa Survey District.

SECTION 26: Area, 47 acres 3 roods 1·8 perches; capital value, £2,550; annual instalment on deferred payment (excluding interest), £127 10s.; half-yearly rent on lease, £57 7s. 6d.

The section is situated in the Pihauta soldiers’ settlement about ten miles and a half from Featherston Railway-station by main Kahautara Valley Road to Pihauta Road, and thence by formed and metalled road. Comprises flat land, one-third being in open pasture and remainder in grass, through light bush from which milling-timber has been removed. Soil consists of first-class alluvial, resting on shingle formation. The section is not too well watered at present.

Small Grazing-run in Hawke’s Bay Land District for Sale by Application and Ballot.

District Lands and Survey Office,
Napier, 11th July, 1921.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned small grazing-run is open for selection under the provisions of the Land Act, 1908, and amendments; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Napier, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Tuesday, the 6th day of September, 1921.

Applicants must appear before the Land Board for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Napier, on Thursday, the 8th day of September, 1921, at 10 o’clock a.m.

The ballot will be held at the District Lands and Survey Office, Napier, at the conclusion of the examination of applicants.


SCHEDULE.

HAWKE’S BAY LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.

Wairoa County.—Puketapu Survey District.

Runs 104 and 105: Area, 6,873 acres; capital value, £10,320; half-yearly rent, £129.

Altitude runs from 400 ft. to 1,600 ft. above sea-level. The country varies from undulating to hilly and broken, intersected in places by deep gorges, flats along the Esk River, Ohurakura Stream, and old Taupo Road. Country generally is covered with manuka scrub, fern, and tutu, with small patches of light bush, and is suitable for pastoral purposes only. About 300 acres have been burnt and grassed. Light pumice soil; well watered. Contains a good homestead-site. Distance twenty-eight miles from Napier by a fair motor-road.
