Aorangi and Manawatu Drainage Districts declared to be a United District, by Name Manawatu Drainage District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 27th day of June, 1921.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the Boards of the Aorangi Drainage District and of the Manawatu Drainage District have each presented a petition praying that the said drainage districts may be united and form one united district, as provided by section fifteen of the Land Drainage Act, 1908:

And whereas the said Boards have agreed to the following conditions, namely:—

  1. That all special rates made as security for loans existing at the date of the union of the said districts shall continue to be levied only within the area over which they were respectively originally levied:

  2. The name of the united district to be the Manawatu Drainage District, and the number of trustees for such district to be seven:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance of the powers vested in him by the said Land Drainage Act, 1908, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the Aorangi Drainage District and the Manawatu Drainage District shall, as on and from the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-two, form one united district under and for the purposes of the said Act, the boundaries whereof shall be those described in the Schedule hereto; and doth also order and declare that the name of the said united district shall be the Manawatu Drainage District, and that the number of trustees of the said district shall be seven.

SCHEDULE.

MANAWATU DRAINAGE DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District bounded by a line commencing at the Aorangi Bridge over the Oroua River on the Bunnythorpe–Feilding Road, and proceeding thence south-easterly along that road to the easternmost corner of Section 569, Block II, Kairanga Survey District; thence south-westerly along Newbury Line or road to the westernmost corner of Section 1523; thence south-easterly along Cleverley Line and Roberts Line to the railway reserve, and south-easterly along that reserve to boundary of the Borough of Palmerston North as described in the New Zealand Gazette, 1882, page 125, and along the north-western and south-western boundaries of that borough to the Palmerston–Foxton Road; thence south-westerly along that road to the south-western boundary of Section 15, Block XIV, Kairanga Survey District; thence along that boundary, the north-western boundary of Section 18, and the south-western boundaries of Sections 18 and 19 to the Manawatu River, and down the middle of that river to Karere Road; thence north-westerly along that road to the northernmost corner of Section 33, and along the north-western boundary of that section to the westernmost corner; thence along a right line to the northernmost corner of Section 55, Block XIII, Kairanga Survey District; thence along the north-western boundaries of Sections 55, 54, 53, and 52, across a road, 51, 50, 49, and 48, and the production of the last-named boundary to Section 35, Block XVI, Te Kawa Survey District; thence along the north-eastern and southern boundaries of said Section 35 to the railway reserve; thence along a right line across that reserve and along the northern side of that reserve to the middle of the Oroua River, and up the middle of that river to the Aorangi Bridge, the point of commencement.

Appointing Trustees for the Management of Wharf at Waitangi, Chatham Islands.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 20th day of June, 1921.

Present:

PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the eighth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 88, of the eleventh day of the same month, Charles Wishart was, amongst others, appointed a trustee for the management of the wharf at Waitangi, Chatham Islands:

And whereas the said Charles Wishart has resigned his position as trustee, and it is desirable to appoint another person in his place, and also to appoint an additional trustee:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section eleven of the Harbours Act, 1908, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint Hugh Lanauze to be a trustee in the place of the said Charles Wishart, resigned; and in further pursuance and exercise of the said powers and authorities, and with the like advice and consent as aforesaid, doth hereby appoint Edward Seymour, Junior, to be an additional trustee, in conjunction with the said Hugh Lanauze, Franz Regnault, Henry Daymond, and Thomas Henry Lanauze, the trustees heretofore appointed for the management of the said wharf.

Consenting to the Raising of Loans of £60,100 and £29,100 by the Napier Borough Council.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 20th day of June, 1921.

Present:

PRESIDING IN COUNCIL,

WHEREAS application has been made under section twenty, subsection one, of the Finance Act, 1919, for the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council to enable the Napier Borough Council to borrow the sums of sixty thousand one hundred pounds for the purchase and installation of electric power plant, tramway track, &c., and twenty-nine thousand one hundred pounds for the construction of sewers, sewerage works, and waterworks, and it is expedient that such consent should issue:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the raising of the loans of sixty thousand one hundred pounds and twenty-nine thousand one hundred pounds by the Napier Borough Council at a rate of interest not exceeding five and one-half pounds per centum per annum; and it is hereby declared that this Order in Council is made under the provisions in that behalf of the Finance Act, 1919, and shall operate accordingly as a consent of the Governor-General in Council to the raising of the loans hereby authorized.

Declaring Portion of Mount Damper Road, in the Whangamomona County, to be a County Road.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 20th day of June, 1921.

PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the portion of road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, become a county road.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that portion of Mount Damper Road, in the Taranaki Land District, Whangamomona County, commencing at its junction with the Mangapapa Road, and proceeding thence generally in a north-easterly direction, adjoining or passing through Section 18, Block II, Pouatu Survey District, and Section 6, Block XIV, Waro Survey District, and terminating at its junction with Rangi Road; being a distance of 2 miles 6 chains, more or less. As the said portion of road is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 51860, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.
