NOTICE is hereby given that the OIL FUEL ECONOMISER
(LIMITED), a company duly incorporated in New
South Wales under the provisions of the Companies Act,
1899, proposes to carry on business in New Zealand; and
that the office or place of business of the company in New-
Zealand, where legal process of any action may be served
upon it and to which notices of any kind may be addressed
or delivered, is situate at the office of Messrs. Hicks and
Ainger, 162 Manchester Street, Christchurch.

IN pursuance of regulations under the Canterbury College
and Canterbury Agricultural College Act, 1896, I, Leonard
Aubrey Stringer, Returning Officer, do hereby declare that the
undermentioned persons have been duly elected members of

WAITOMO COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, and
all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Waitomo
County Council hereby resolves as follows :-
That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking
fund, and other charges on a loan of nine hundred pounds
(£900), authorized to be raised by the Waitomo County
Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of
completing the reforming and metalling of the several roads
mentioned in the original Mangaotaki metalling scheme, the
said Waitomo County Council hereby makes and levies a
special rate of one farthing (¼d.) in the pound sterling upon the
rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable
property in the Mangaotaki Special Rating Area of the County
of Waitomo, comprising all that area in the Auckland Land
District bounded as follows,-
Commencing at the south-western corner of Puketiti No. 5;
thence along the southern boundary of the said section in an
easterly direction to Hunt's Road; thence along Hunt's
Road in a northerly direction to the north-east corner of the
said section; thence along the northern boundary of the said
section in a westerly direction to the south-east corner of
Kinohaku East 4H Number 3; thence along the eastern
boundary of the said section and the eastern boundary of
Kinohaku East Section 4H 4 to the western boundary of
Kinohaku East 4B Section 3; thence along the southern
boundary of Kinohaku East 4B Section 3 and through the
last-mentioned section to include 464 acres 2 roods 19 perches
of the said last-mentioned section in the area; thence along
the northern boundary of the said section Kinohaku East 4B
Section 3 to the south-east corner of section Kinohaku
East 4B 2A; thence along the eastern boundary of the last-
mentioned section, the eastern boundary of Kinohaku East 4B
2B, the northern boundary of 4B 2B, then again to the
northern boundary of Kinohaku East 4B Section 3; thence
along the northern boundary of the said last-mentioned
section to the south-east corner of Kinohaku East 4D 2;
thence along the eastern and northern boundaries of Kinohaku
East 4D 2 and part of the eastern boundary of Kinohaku
East 4D 4, part of the southern, eastern, and northern bound-
aries of Kinohaku East 4E, to the north-east corner of Kino-
haku East 4G No. 2; thence along the northern boundary of
Kinohaku East No. 4G 2, the northern boundary of 4G No. 3,
to the north-eastern boundary of Section 5, Block XI, Maunga-
mangero Survey District; thence along the eastern boundary
of the said section to the Kihikihi Road; thence along the
Kihikihi Road in a south-westerly direction to the south-east
corner of Section 11, Block XI, Maungamangero Survey Dis-
trict; thence along the eastern boundary of the said section
in a northerly direction to the north-eastern corner; thence
along the northern boundaries of the said last-mentioned
section and Sections 12, 13, 26, 27, 28, to the Mahoenui-
Kawhia Road; thence along the Mahoenui-Kawhia Road to
the north-western corner of Section 3, Block VI, Maunga-
mangero S.D., this being a point on the boundary between
Awakino and Waitomo Counties; thence along the boundary
between the two counties in a southerly direction to the
starting-point.
And that such special rate shall be an annually recurring
rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly
on the first day of August in each and every year during
the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a
half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

TAURANGA HARBOUR BOARD.
LOAN OF £10,000.-FIRST PORTION OF A SPECIAL LOAN OF
£125,000 UNDER AUTHORITY OF THE TAURANGA HARBOUR
BOARD EMPOWERING ACT, 1919.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, and
the Tauranga Harbour Board Empowering Act, 1919, the
Harbours Act, 1908, and amendments, and all other Acts in
that behalf enabling it, the Tauranga Harbour Board hereby
resolves as follows:-
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £125,000, authorized to be raised by
the Tauranga Harbour Board, under the above-mentioned
Acts, for the purpose of paying and discharging all pre-
viously existing debentures issued by the Board as they may
mature (£3,078), and for the construction of the following
works in and for the Tauranga Harbour recommended by
Mr. J. Blair Mason,--
For dredging, deepening, widening, and improving the
channel from the Heads to Tauranga, and the construction
of the necessary training-walls, groynes, or aprons
for maintaining the same, and the purchase, construction,
and hiring of all such dredges, tugs, cranes, wharves,
jetties, sheds, quarries, equipment, and plant (all of
which are hereinafter referred to as "plant and
machinery") as may be necessary for such work
(£57,847); and for constructing a pier at Maunganui,
and the purchase, construction, and hiring of the neces-
sary plant and machinery (£33,000); and for purchasing
acquiring, and constructing quay and training-wall from
Tauranga to Sulphur Point (£24,000); and to pay the
expenses of the poll taken on the proposal (£200)--
the Tauranga Harbour Board hereby makes and levies a
special rate on the capital value of all rateable property in
the Tauranga Borough, and in the Mount portion of the
County of Tauranga, as defined in the Tauranga Harbour
Board Empowering Act, 1919, of one penny in the pound
sterling; in the rest of the Tauranga County, the Te Puke
Town Board District, and the Matata Riding of the County
of Whakatane, of three farthings in the pound sterling; in
that portion of the Rotorua County defined in the Schedule
to the Tauranga Harbour Board Empowering Act, 1919, of
one-eighth of a penny in the pound sterling; and in the
rest of the Rotorua County and Rotorua Town District,
of three-eighths of a penny in the pound sterling, as security
for the interest and sinking fund in connection with such
loan: Provided that the rate struck in the Rotorua Town
District and County shall not be levied until a railway shall
be actually constructed and open for traffic connecting the
Town of Rotorua with the Main East Coast line eastward of
Tauranga.
And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring
rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly
on the first day of April in each and every year during the
currency of such loan, being a period of 361 years, or until
the loan is fully paid off.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

Inglewood County Council hereby resolves as follows:-
That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in
respect of principal and interest and also the other charges on
a loan of £550, authorized to be raised by the Inglewood County
