Notice respecting Proposed Alteration of Boundaries of City of Dunedin.

Wellington, 10th June, 1921.

PURSUANT to section 132 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, it is hereby notified that petitions, in accordance with regulations, signed by not less than one-fourth of the electors of the area described in the Schedule hereto, being a portion of the Borough of St. Kilda, have been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, praying that the said area may be excluded from the said borough and included in the City of Dunedin. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed alteration within one month from the first publication of this notice. Such objections or petitions are to be addressed and forwarded to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.

SCHEDULE.

AREA PROPOSED TO BE INCLUDED IN THE CITY OF DUNEDIN.
ALL that area in the Otago Land District bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the Bay View Road and the Prince Albert Road, and thence proceeding north-easterly, south-easterly, and south-westerly along the boundaries of the St. Kilda Borough as described in the New Zealand Gazette, 1885, page 994, to Prince Albert Road, and north-westerly along the middle of said Prince Albert Road to the point of commencement.

Notice respecting Proposed Change of Name of District, “Cabbage Bay” to “Colville.”

IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General praying that the name of the district known as Cabbage Bay be altered to Colville, under the provisions of the Designation of Districts Act, 1908. All persons affected are hereby notified that any objections to or petitions against the proposed alteration of name must be lodged within one month from the first publication of this notice. Such objections or petitions are to be addressed and forwarded to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.

Cancellation of Notice fixing the Closing-hours of (1) Booksellers and Stationers and (2) Fancy-goods Dealers’ Shops in the Borough of Timaru, under the Shops and Offices Act, 1908.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the shops in each of the trades of (1) bookseller and stationer and (2) fancy-goods dealer in the Borough of Timaru, has been forwarded to me, desiring that the notice gazetted on the 26th November, 1914, fixing the closing-hours of all the shops in each of the trades of (1) bookseller and stationer and (2) fancy-goods dealer in the Borough of Timaru be cancelled:

And whereas I, George James Anderson, Minister of Labour, am satisfied that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the shops in each of the trades of (1) bookseller and stationer and (2) fancy-goods dealer within the Borough of Timaru:

Now, therefore, in pursuance of section 25 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1908, I do hereby direct that the notice gazetted on the 26th November, 1914, fixing the closing-hours of all the shops in each of the trades of (1) bookseller and stationer and (2) fancy-goods dealer in the Borough of Timaru shall be and is hereby cancelled as from the date of this notice.
