Proclaiming Native Land to be Crown Land under Section 14
of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1914.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by section fourteen of the Native Land
Amendment Act, 1914, it is provided, inter alia,
that on being satisfied that the purchase of any Native land
has been duly completed by or on behalf of the Crown under
the authority of the Native Land Act, 1909, the Governor-
General may issue a Proclamation that such land has become
Crown land:
And whereas the purchase of the Native land set out in the
Schedule hereto has been duly completed by or on behalf of
the Crown under the authority of the Native Land Act, 1909:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power
and authority so conferred upon me by section fourteen of
the Native Land Amendment Act, 1914, I, John Rushworth,
Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New
Zealand, do hereby proclaim the land set out in the Schedule
hereto to be Crown land.
SCHEDULE.
SECTIONS 2 and 21, Block VII, Grant 3632, Waimate Survey
District: Area, 26 acres 0 roods 6 perches.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand; and issued
under the Seal of that Dominion, at the Government
House at Wellington, this 13th day of June, 1921.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 6th day of
June, 1921.

THE HONOURABLE SIR F. H. D. BELL, K.C.M.G.,
PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section seventeen of the Native Land
Amendment Act, 1912, it is enacted that the Governor-
General may by Order in Council, on the recommendation
of the Native Land Court, declare any Native to be a
European:
And whereas Henry David Bates, of Wanganui, being a
Native within the meaning of the Native Land Act, 1909,
applied in the prescribed form for a recommendation of the
Court that he might be declared a European: And whereas
the said Court, having duly inquired into the said application,
has recommended that an Order in Council be issued declaring
the said Henry David Bates to be a European: And whereas
it is expedient that such declaration should be made:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise
of the powers and authority conferred on him by section
seventeen of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1912, and
acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare the said
Henry David Bates to be a European.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 6th day of June, 1921.

THE HONOURABLE SIR F. H. D. BELL, K.C.M.G., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him
by the Education Act, 1914, and its amendments, and of all other
powers enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General
of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the
regulations for the election and appointment of Managers of Technical
Schools made under the Education Act, 1914, by Order in Council dated
the thirtieth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen, and
amended from time to time thereafter, and in lieu thereof doth hereby
make the regulations set forth in the Schedule hereto; and, with the like
advice and consent, doth prescribe that this Order shall come into force
on the date of the first publication thereof in the New Zealand Gazette.
SCHEDULE.
REGULATIONS FOR THE ELECTION AND APPOINTMENT OF MANAGERS OF TECHNICAL SCHOOLS.
Technical Schools (not being Schools mentioned in Subsections (2), (3), or
(4) of Section 113 of the Education Act, 1914, as re-enacted by Section 31
of the Education Amendment Act, 1920).

SUBJECT to the provisions of the Education Act, 1914, and of these
regulations, the Minister shall from time to time determine the number of
managers to be appointed by the controlling authority, local authorities,
and employers and employees in local industries respectively, pursuant to
subsection (5) of section 113 of the Act as re-enacted by section 31 of the
Education Amendment Act, 1920. -
(i.) Managers appointed or elected to represent (a) the controlling
authority, (b) the committee of the urban school district (if any), or, in
the alternative, the members of school committees of public schools within
five miles of the technical school concerned, (c) the local authorities of cities,
boroughs, or counties within five miles of such technical school, (d) the
employers and employees in local industries, as prescribed by the said
subsection, shall be appointed or elected in the month of July, August,
or September in each year as the controlling authority may in each case
determine.
