Notice to Mariners.—No. 22 of 1921.
CHANGES IN MANUKAU BAR.
Marine Department,
Wellington, N.Z., 23rd May, 1921.
NOTICE is hereby given that a change is now taking place on the bar of the main channel; and that indications point to a new channel forming about 1¼ miles to the north-west of the recently surveyed channel.
Steps are now being taken to survey the new channel and to sound the recently surveyed channel.
Masters of vessels, when entering or leaving, are warned to follow the directions by semaphore which are given by the signalman on South Head.
Further notice will be given when it has been definitely ascertained what change has taken place.
The following publications are affected: Admiralty Chart No. 2726; “New Zealand Pilot,” 9th edition, page 67; “New Zealand Nautical Almanac,” 1921, page 330.

THE following Notices to Mariners, which have been received from the Hydrographic Office, London; the Department of Trade and Customs, Melbourne; and the Harbours Board Offices, Adelaide, are published for general information.

CEYLON.
WEST COAST.—COLOMBO HARBOUR.—AMENDED POSITION OF PILOT-STATION AND TIME-BALL.—ALTERATION IN BUILDINGS.
Position.—Galbokka Point, lat. 6° 56′ N., long. 79° 50′ E. (approx.).
Details.—The pilot-station is now situated on the spur of the South-West Breakwater, and the note “(Pilot Stn.)” is to be inserted on the charts against the landing-jetty on this spur.
Charts affected.—No. 914, Colombo Harbour; No. 3686, Approaches to Colombo Harbour.
Note.—The heading of the note on the charts regarding pilot signals is to be altered to read “Pilot Signals from the Master Attendant’s Office.”
EASTERN ARCHIPELAGO.
GEELVINK BAY.—CAPE WORANSBARI.—SHOALS SOUTHWARD OF.
(1.) Position.—At a distance of about 13 miles southward from Cape Woransbari. Lat. 1° 36′ S., long. 134° 14′ E. Depth.—3¼ fathoms (5·9 m.).
(2.) Position.—Lat. 1° 35′ S., long. 134° 12′ E. Depth.—3½ fathoms (6·4 m.). Remarks.—The above positions refer to Chart No. 942B.
AUSTRALIA.
EAST COAST, INNER BARRIER ROUTE.—NORTH BARNARD ISLANDS LIGHT.—INTENDED ALTERATION IN CHARACTERISTICS.
Mariners and others are hereby notified that the power of the flashing white light (U) on North Barnard Islands (Kent Island) will be increased, and that a new structure will be erected, on or about 15th August, 1921.
Position.—On Kent Island, in position of former light. Lat. 17° 40½′ S., long. 146° 11′ E., on Chart No. 2350.
Details.—Character: Flashing white light showing one flash every five seconds, thus—flash ½ sec., eclipse 4½ secs. Elevation: 280 ft. (85·3 m.). Visibility: 17 miles from 137° (S. 50° E. mag.) though south to 10° (N. 3° E. mag.). Power: 3,000 candles. Structure: Square concrete house with white lantern, 22 ft. in height.
Remarks.—The light is unwatched.
Note.—No further notice will be given.
HANNIBAL ISLANDS.—INTENDED NEW LIGHT.
Mariners and others are hereby notified that a group flashing white light (U) will be established on the Eastern Islet of Hannibal Islands on or about 31st August, 1921.
Position.—On the Eastern Islet, Lat. 11° 35½′ S., long. 142° 56¾′ E., on Chart No. 2919,
Details.—Character: Group flashing white light, showing two flashes every six seconds, thus—flash ⅓ sec., eclipse 1 sec.; flash ⅓ sec., eclipse 4⅓ secs. Elevation: 55 ft. (16·8 m.). Visibility: 13 miles. Power: 3,000 candles. Structure: Red frame tower, 54 ft. in height.
Remarks.—The light will be unwatched.
Note.—No further notice will be given.
GULF OF ST. VINCENT.—GLENELG JETTY LIGHT.—ALTERATION OF SECTORS.
Masters of vessels, pilots, and others are hereby informed that the sectors in the Glenelg Jetty light have been altered, and now show white between bearings 356° 53′ (N. 8½° W. mag.) and 66° 53′ (N. 61½° mag.), then red covering the site of the breakwater works between 66° 53′ (N. 61½° E. mag.) and 176° 53′ (S. 8½° mag.).
The white sector indicates the approach to the jetty free from dangers.
Approximate position: Lat. 34° 58′ 50″ S., long. 138° 30′ 20″ E.

Bounded on the north-east by Allotment No. 34, 200 links; on the south-east by Allotment No. 37, 500 links; on the south-west by a street 100 links wide, 200 links; and on the north-west by Allotments Nos. 39, 40A, and 39A, 500 links.

All that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 1 acre, more or less, being Allotment No. 64, Town of Harapepe, Parish of Pirongia, County of Rutland. Bounded on the north-east by Allotment No. 60, 200 links; on the south-east by Allotment No. 63, 500 links; on the south-west by a street 150 links wide, 200 links; and on the north-west by a street 200 links wide, 500 links.
WHEREAS after due inquiry the owners of the above-described lands cannot be found: And whereas the said owners have no known agents in New Zealand:
Now, the Public Trustee hereby calls upon such owners, within six months of the date of the publication of this notice in this Gazette to establish to the satisfaction of the Public Trustee their title to the said lands. If such owners fail or neglect so to establish their title, the Public Trustee will exercise the powers and authorities granted to him in and by the Public Trust Office Act, 1908 (Part II), and its amendments.
