Education Act, 1914.—Amendments in the Regulations for Supplementary Model Country Schools and for the Salaries of Public-school Teachers.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 3rd day of May, 1921.
Present:
THE HONOURABLE SIR F. H. D. BELL, K.C.M.G., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him under the provisions of the Education Act, 1914, and the amendments thereof, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby make the amendments set out in the Schedule hereto in the regulations in force (1) for supplementary model country schools, (2) for the salaries of public-school teachers; and doth prescribe that this Order shall come into force on the date of the first publication thereof in the New Zealand Gazette.
SCHEDULE.
SUPPLEMENTARY MODEL COUNTRY SCHOOLS.

CLAUSE 4 of the regulations for supplementary model country schools is hereby amended by the addition of the following: “Such pupils may be arranged to form either (i) a complete model country school with classes from the preparatory stage to Standard VI, or (ii) a junior model country school with classes from the preparatory stage to Standard II.”

Clause 6 of the regulations for supplementary model country schools is hereby revoked, and the following substituted in lieu thereof:—
“6. Teachers appointed to model schools under these regulations shall be paid as follows:—
“(i.) To a teacher appointed to a separate complete model school, the salary, additions to salary, and the house allowance paid a head teacher of a school of Grade IIIA.
“(ii.) To an assistant teacher appointed to a complete model school established as part of a larger school, a salary of Grade 5, together with such additions to salary as are otherwise provided under the regulations.
“(iii.) To an assistant teacher appointed to a junior model school established as part of a larger school, a salary of Grade 4, together with such additions to salary as are otherwise provided under the regulations.”
SALARIES OF PUBLIC-SCHOOL TEACHERS.

Clause 6 of the regulations for the salaries of public-school teachers is hereby amended by deleting all the words after the words “Grade 3.”

Clause 44 of the regulations for the salaries of public-school teachers is hereby amended by deleting from the clause the words “or if a public school is established as a model school.”

WHEREAS by section nine of the Mining Act, 1908, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time, by Order in Council, appoint fit persons to be Wardens, who shall hold office during the Governor-General’s pleasure:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred by the said section nine of the Mining Act, 1908, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint
HENRY WILFRED BUNDLE, Esquire,
to be a Warden, to hold and exercise the duties of such office under and subject to the provisions of the said Act during pleasure, on and from the ninth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one.

Amending Order in Council licensing Thomas Charles Hawkins to use and occupy a Part of the Foreshore and Land below Low-water Mark at Tangowahine, in Kaipara Harbour, as a Site for a Wharf and Log-slip.

PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 25, of the tenth day of the same month, Thomas Charles Hawkins was licensed to use and occupy a part of the foreshore and land below low-water mark at Tangowahine, in Kaipara Harbour, as a site for a wharf and log-slip:
And whereas it is desired to amend the said Order in Council in the manner hereinafter described:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him by the Harbours Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent
