the South Islands of the Dominion of New Zealand, as from

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

Wellington, 2nd April, 1921.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the
Council of the Borough of Tauranga, is published in
accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans
Act, 1913.

BOROUGH OF TAURANGA.

Streets Loan, £20,000.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act,
1913, I hereby give public notice that at a poll of ratepayers
of the Borough of Tauranga taken on the 2nd March, 1921,
on the proposal of the Tauranga Borough Council to borrow
the sum of £20,000 for streets improvements, the number of
votes cast was as follows: Against the proposal, 196; for
the proposal, 159; informal, 3: total, 358.

Dated 11th March, 1921.

I therefore declare that the proposal was rejected.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the
Council of the County of Patangata, is published in
accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans
Act, 1913.

PATANGATA COUNTY COUNCIL.

In the matter of the Counties Act, 1920, and the Local
Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments.

WE, Charles Pattison, Chairman of the Patangata County
Council, and James William Elliott, Returning Officer for the
said county, hereby give notice that on the 22nd day of
March, 1920, a poll of the ratepayers in the Patangata County
was duly held and taken on the proposal of the Patangata
County Council to raise a special loan of £209,000 for the
following purposes :—

(a.) Re-erecting and renewing all the bridges and culverts
in the Patangata County, the various sums being
allocated to the several ridings in the said county as
follows :—

At such poll the number of votes recorded was as follows:
For the proposal, 291; against the proposal, 162; majority
for the proposal, 129; informal, 2.

Wherefore we declare the said proposal to be carried.
