Education Act, 1914.—Amendments in certain Regulations.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 24th day of March, 1921.

Present:

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him under the provisions of the Education Act, 1914, and the amendments thereof, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby make the amendments set out in the Schedule hereto in the regulations in force (1) for the exchange of New Zealand teachers with teachers from other countries and for granting leave of absence to teachers for certain purposes, (2) for organizing teachers, and (3) for the examination and classification of teachers; and doth prescribe that this Order shall come into force on the date of the first publication thereof in the New Zealand Gazette.

SCHEDULE.

EXCHANGE OF TEACHERS.

Clause 15 of the regulations for the exchange of New Zealand teachers with teachers from other countries is hereby amended by deleting all words after the words “shall,” and by substituting therefor the words “be classified as a relieving teacher in accordance with the amendment to clause 53 of the regulations for the salaries of public-school teachers, and shall receive such salary as will approximate most nearly to the salary he received in his last permanent position.”

ORGANIZING TEACHERS.

Clause 13 of the regulations for organizing teachers is hereby amended by deleting all words after the word “shall,” and by substituting therefor the words “be deemed to have come into operation on 1st August, 1920.”

EXAMINATION AND CLASSIFICATION OF TEACHERS.

Clause 5 of the regulations for the examination and classification of teachers is hereby amended by deleting the last sentence in the clause, and by inserting, after the words “a period of pupil-teacher service,” the words “or of probationer service in the case of probationers appointed after 1st February, 1921.”

Regulations under the Post and Telegraph Department Act, 1918, amended.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 24th day of March, 1921.

Present:

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred by the Post and Telegraph Department Act, 1918 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby amend the regulations made on the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, for the classification and regulation of the Post and Telegraph Department, in the manner set forth in the Schedule hereto; and doth direct that this Order in Council shall come into force from the date of its publication in the New Zealand Gazette.

SCHEDULE.

  1. REGULATION 5 is hereby amended by adding the word “First” before the word “Schedule.”
