(h.) To effect all or any pf the following improve-
ments on the Stratford Domain, as described in
the Schedule to the Order in Council published in
the New Zealand Gazette of the 27th day of May,
1920, whereby the Stratford Borough Council was
appointed to be the Stratford Domain Board having
control of the said Stratford Domain, namely, to
establish, lay out, make, and provide in the said
Stratford Domain, botanical and zoological gardens,
plantations of trees, shrubs, and flowers, lawns,
bowling-greens, tennis-courts, cricket and football
grounds, athletic and sports grounds, and cycling-
tracks; to lay off, form, and construct therein
roadways, pathways, and bridges ; to erect thereon
pavilions, dressing-rooms, tea-rooms, a band-
rotunda, public conveniences, bathing-sheds, con-
servatories and hot-houses, buildings and enclosures
for housing animals and birds, a caretaker's dwell-
inghouse, tool-sheds, and all necessary fencing and
gates ; to preserve, protect, and improve the native
bush in the said Stratford Domain ; to provide all
tools and plant required, and to do all other things
reasonably necessary for or incidental to the carry-
ing-out of all or any of the aforesaid improvements
on the said Stratford Domain .. ... 5,000

the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 378, and
the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 89;
informal votes, 4.
I therefore declare the proposal to be carried.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the
Council of the County of Akaroa, is published in
accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans
Act, 1913.

COUNTY OF AKAROA.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913,
I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the County
of Akaroa taken on the 20th day of December, 1920, on the
proposal of the Akaroa County Council to borrow the sum of
£3,000 for—
(a.) The re-erection of the Council Chambers at Duvauuchelle
which were destroyed by fire ;
(b.) The purchase of 7 acres l rood 35 perches of land,
being part Rural Sections 752 and 2114, and the
building thereon, situate at Duvauchelle, from Mr.
David Barwick, for the purposes of a foreman's
cottage and grazing-paddock ;
the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 88, and
the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 7.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

RANGITIKEI COUNTY COUNCIL.
Result of Poll on Proposal to raise Loan.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act,
1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers
of the Erewhon Riding of the County of Rangitikei taken
on the 15th day of December, 1920, on the proposal of the
Rangitikei County Council to borrow the sum of £40,000
for the purposes of a public work within the Erewhon Riding
of the County of Rangitikei, comprising the formation of
roads, the metalling of roads for the first time, the erection
of bridges over the Rangitikei River, and acquisition of
machinery and plant in connection therewith, the number
of votes recorded for the proposal was 126, and the number
of votes recorded against the proposal was 24.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

WAIMEA COUNTY COUNCIL.
Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan of £30,000.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act,
1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers
of the County of Waimea taken on the 15th day of Decem-
ber, 1920, on the proposal of the Waimea County Council to
borrow the sum of £30,000 for the following purposes—for
the reconstruction of and repairs to bridges, £25,000 ; for
the purchase of road-making plant, £5,000--the number of
votes recorded for the proposal was 1,219, and the number
of votes recorded against the proposal was 80.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Council of the County of Piako, is published in ac-
cordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans

PIAKO COUNTY COUNCIL.
Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act,
1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of
the Hungahunga Roads Special Rating Area in the above
county was taken on the 15th day of December, 1920, on
the proposal of the Piako County Council to borrow the
sum of £36,000 for metalling roads in the said special area.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 46, and
the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 19.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
