And whereas it is expedient to make the desired alteration: Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
and authorities vested in him by the Municipal Corporations
Act, 1908, and its amendments, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
Dominion, doth hereby declare that as on and from the first
day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one,
the area described in the Schedule hereto, being the area now
comprised within the Point Chevalier Road District, shall be
included in the City of Auckland.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District bounded
towards the north by the Waitemata Harbour; towards the
north-east by the City of Auckland as described in the New
Zealand Gazette, 1918, page 1851; towards the south by the
borough of Mount Albert as described in the New Zealand
Gazette, 1911, page 972; and towards the west by the Oakley
Creek and the Waitemata Harbour.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of section
thirteen of the Municipal Corporations Amendment
Act, 1913, a petition was presented to the Governor-General
praying that the area described in the said petition be constituted a new borough :
And whereas a Commission appointed under the said section thirteen held inquiries, and recommended certain alterations of the said area :
And whereas the provisions of the said section thirteen have
been complied with in respect thereto, and the result of the
poll taken on the proposal contained in the said petition was
in favour thereof :
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
and authorities vested in me by the Municipal Corporations
Act, 1908, as amended by the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act, 1913, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby
proclaim and declare that the area described in the Schedule
hereto shall be constituted a borough under the said Acts on
and from the first day of March, one thousand nine hundred
and twenty-one ; that the name of such borough shall be the
Borough of Otaki; that the said borough shall be an undivided
borough; and that the number of Councillors to be elected
thereto shall be six, exclusive of the Mayor.
And I do further proclaim and declare that Frederick George
Davies, of Otaki, shall be the Returning Officer to conduct
the first election of Mayor and Councillors of the said borough;
and that the said Frederick George Davies shall be the Town
Clerk and the person to prepare the district electors roll for
the purposes of the said first election.
And, lastly, I do proclaim and declare that the first election
of Mayor and Councillors of the said borough shall be held
on Wednesday, the twenty-third day of March, one thousand
nine hundred and twenty-one; and that the first meeting of
the Council of the said borough shall be held on Thursday, the
twenty-fourth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and
twenty-one, at half past seven o'clock in the afternoon, at
the office of the Otaki Town Board, Otaki.
Allocating Cost of taking Poll under Section 2 of the Municipal
Corporations Amendment Act, 1914, Point Chevalier Road
District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 1st day of
March, 1921.

IN pursuance of the powers vested in him by section two
of the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act, 1914,
and of every other power and authority enabling him in this
behalf, His Excellency the Governor General of the Dominion
of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby
direct that the Auckland City Council shall defray all the
costs incurred in connection with the taking of a poll under
the said Act on the eighteenth day of December, one thousand
nine hundred and twenty, on the proposal to include the area
comprising the Point Chevalier Road District in the City of
Auckland.

Validating Proceedings in connection with Poll taken on Proposal
to constitute Borough of Otaki.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 1st day of

WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of section
thirteen of the Municipal Corporations Amendment
Act, 1913, a petition was presented to His Excellency the
Governor-General praying that a certain area be constituted a
borough, to be known as the Borough of Otaki.
And whereas a Commission appointed under the said section
made inquiries, and recommended that the said area with
certain alterations be constituted a borough:
And whereas a poll was taken on Wednesday, the twelfth
day of January, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen,
within the area as fixed by the said Commission, upon the
proposal that the said area should be constituted a borough:
And whereas the proceedings in connection with the said
poll were irregular, in that the arrangements for such poll
were not made by the Governor-General, as provided by
subsection (f) of the said section, and it is expedient to validate
the said proceedings:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of
the powers and authorities conferred on him by section three
hundred and sixty-eight of the Municipal Corporations Act,
1908, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare
that the proceedings in connection with the poll taken on
the proposal to constitute the said area a borough shall be
valid to all intents and purposes as if the arrangements in
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, bounded towards the north by a line commencing at the mouth of the
Waitohu Stream in Block V, Waitohu Survey District, and
thence proceeding along the middle of the said stream to the
eastern side of the old coach road; thence towards the east
by the said eastern side of the old coach road to the northwestern corner of Pukekaraka No. 5; thence towards the
north and east generally by the northern and eastern boundaries of the said Pukekaraka No. 5 to the northern boundary
of Te Tokitoki No. 3 ; again towards the east by the said
northern boundary of Te Tokitoki No. 3 to the most western
corner of Waitohu llo No. 2 ; thence towards the north by
the western boundary of the said Waitohu llc No. 2 to its
northernmost corner; again towards the east by the northern
boundaries of the said Waitohu llc No. 2, Waitohu llb, and
Haruatai No. 7 to the easternmost corner of the last-mentioned
block; thence towards the south and east by the eastern
boundaries of the said Haruatai No. 7 and the Church Mission
grant to the south-western corner of Haruatai No. 2A; again
towards the east by the southern boundaries of Haruatai
Nos. 2A and part 2B to the south-western corner of the said
Haruatai 2B at its junction with the Haruatai Stream ;
thence by a right line across the said Haruatai Stream
towards the east along the southern side of the northern
branch of the said Haruatai Stream to the North Island
Main Trunk Railway line; thence towards the south-east
generally by the northern side of the said railway-line
to where it joins angle peg No. IV of the county road in
Kaingaraki No. 6 Block; thence by a right line across the
angle of the said county road to the northern side thereof;
thence again towards the south-east generally by the said
northern side of the county road to its junction with the
northern side of the road which passes through Kaingaraki
No. 9; thence towards the west by the northern side of the
