NOTICE is hereby given that the leases and licenses of the undermentioned lands having been declared forfeited by resolution of the Auckland Land Board, the said lands have thereby reverted to the Crown, under the provisions of the Land Act, 1908, and the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915.

Education Reserves in Auckland Land District for Lease by Public Auction.

NOTICE is hereby given that the education reserves described in the Schedule hereto will be offered for lease by public auction at the District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, at 11 o'clock a.m. on Wednesday, 20th April, 1921, under the provisions of the Education Reserves Act, 1908, and amendments, and the Public Bodies' Leases Act, 1908.

SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.

Raglan County.—Pirongia Parish.
SECTION 49: Area, 49 acres 1 rood 24 perches; upset annual rental, £7.
Undulating to broken land, covered with fern, with bush in gullies. Soil of medium quality, on clay formation; fairly watered by small stream. Distant three miles and a half from Te Rore—a mile and a half by fair road, two miles unformed track.

Section 171: Area, 50 acres 1 rood 4 perches; upset annual rental, £2 10s.
Altitude, 400 ft. to 500 ft. above sea-level. Fern land, undulating to broken, with a little light mixed bush in gullies. Soil of fair second-class quality, on clay subsoil; fairly watered by small stream. Distant about seven miles from Pirongia, six miles of which is by fair formed road, balance unformed.

Sections 107/109: Area, 150 acres 0 roods 22 perches; upset annual rental, £10.
Undulating to broken land, covered with fern and a little gorse; partly watered by small stream. One mile from Harapepe.

Raglan County.—Raglan Township.
Section 18, Block VI: Area, 1 rood 22 perches; upset annual rental, £1.
Situated at the corner of Robert Street and Cross Street. Soil of second-class quality, resting on clay subsoil. Section does not contain water.

Tauranga County.—Tauranga Town.
Sections 275, 276, 280, and 281: Area, 1 acre; upset annual rental, £22.
Weighted with £200, valuation for buildings, fencing, &c. Level sections, fronting Sixth and Seventh Avenues, Town of Tauranga.

Rotorua County.—Rotoma Survey District.
Section 6, Block VI: Area, 404 acres 3 roods 18 perches; upset annual rental, £22.
Section 9, Block VI: Area, 603 acres; upset annual rental, £33.
Situated about thirty miles from Rotorua and eighteen miles from Pikowai (East Coast Railway) Station. Section 6 comprises about 80 acres, and Section 9 about 300 acres, open land in fern and tutu. The balance of both sections is heavy bush comprising tawa, rimu, and rata, &c., with a heavy undergrowth. The soil is of fair to good quality, sprinkled with a thin layer of Tarawera ash. Both sections comprise easy undulating country, but water-supply is deficient.

Whakatane County.—Rotoma Survey District.
Section 6, Block VIII: Area, 1,121 acres 3 roods; upset annual rental, £56.
Situated about thirty-two miles from Rotorua and sixteen miles from Matata (East Coast Railway) Station. Land undulating to hilly, mostly in heavy bush comprising rimu, rata, pukatea, tawa, &c., with a heavy undergrowth. Fair to good black soil, mixed with pumice; water-supply deficient.

Opotiki County.—Waioeka South Survey District.
Section 1, Block II: Area, 1,426 acres 1 rood 8 perches; upset annual rental, £28.
Undulating to broken bush land of fairly good pastoral quality, well watered by streams. Situated about three miles from Matawai Post-office; but difficult of access.

ABSTRACT OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF LEASE.

  1. Term of lease, twenty-one years, with perpetual right of renewal for the same term at a rent to be determined by revaluation in accordance with the provisions of the First Schedule of the Public Bodies' Leases Act, 1908.
  2. Rents payable half-yearly, in advance, to the Receiver of Land Revenue, Auckland; the first half-yearly payment, together with lease and registration fee and valuation for improvements, to be made on the fall of the hammer.
  3. The successful applicant must pay the value of the improvements (if any) before being admitted to possession, which will be given (the necessary payments being made) on the day of sale.
  4. No lease to be assigned, underlet, or the possession thereof parted with except with the consent of the Land Board.
  5. All rates, taxes, charges, and assessments whatsoever to be paid by the lessee.
  6. The leases shall be prepared generally in accordance with the provisions of the Public Bodies' Leases Act, 1908.
  7. Interest at the rate of 10 per cent. per annum to be paid on rent in arrear.
  8. Consent of the Land Board to be obtained before subdividing, erecting any buildings, or effecting other improvements.
  9. Lease is liable to forfeiture if conditions violated.

Land in North Auckland Land District for Selection on Optional Tenure.

North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 21st February, 1921.
NOTICE is hereby given, in terms of section 21 of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1913, that applications for the undermentioned land will be received at this office up to 4 o'clock p.m. on Monday, 7th March, 1921. Applications must be made on proper forms, to be obtained at post-offices, and must be accompanied by the first half-year's rent and a lease fee of one guinea.

SCHEDULE.
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—BAY OF ISLANDS COUNTY.—RUAPEKAPEKA PARISH.
Section 123: Area, 155 acres. Three miles from Kawakawa by formed road. Capital value, £150. Half-yearly rental on O.R.P., £3 15s.; on renewable lease, £3.
