Notifying Land in the Nelson Land District for Sale by Public Auction.

JELLICOE, Governor-General.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-twenty-sixth section of the Land Act, 1908, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Wednesday, the sixth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one, as the time at which the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction; and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.

Rotoiti Township is situated at the northern end of Lake Rotoiti. It is about five miles from Tophouse, and the locality is an ideal one for campers and sportsmen. Access is from Glenhope, about seventeen miles by a fair road; or from Kohatu, via Tophouse, about thirty-three miles. The town is also accessible from Blenheim, via the Wairau Valley, about seventy miles.

Notifying the Proposed Exchange of Crown Land in the Canterbury Land District for other Land.

JELLICOE, Governor-General.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and forty-two of the Land Act, 1908, as amended by section seventeen of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1913, it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor-General, whenever he deems it expedient in the public interest, to grant in fee-simple any area of Crown land which is subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1908, in exchange for the fee-simple of any other land, and on any such exchange to pay or receive by way of equality of exchange any sum not exceeding twenty-five per centum of the estimated value of the Crown land so granted:

And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor-General, it is expedient to exchange the Crown land described in the First Schedule hereto for the land of equal value described in the Second Schedule hereto, and the owner of the land described in the Second Schedule has agreed to such exchange:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the aforesaid powers and authorities, doth hereby declare that it is his intention to grant in fee-simple the area of Crown land described in the First Schedule hereto in exchange for the fee-simple of the land described in the Second Schedule.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

DESCRIPTION OF CROWN LAND AUTHORIZED TO BE EXCHANGED.

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 28 acres 2 roods, more or less, being Reserve No. 784 situated in Block III of the Waitohi Survey District. Bounded towards the north by Rural Section 31777, 1283·7 links; thence diagonally across a public road, again towards the north generally by that road, 156, 442·7, 212·1, 249, and 725·2 links; towards the east by Rural Section 8293, 385·2 links; towards the south generally by the north bank of the Waitohi River; and towards the west by Rural Section 31777, 2030 links: save and except there-out a public road one chain wide. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 22/2743, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

DESCRIPTION OF LAND TO BE OBTAINED IN EXCHANGE THEREFOR.

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 28 acres 2 roods, more or less, being part of Rural Sections 31477 and 32185 situated in Block IX, Noble Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west by Reserve No. 868, 1913 links; towards the east by other part of said Rural Section 32185, 2075·3 links; towards the south generally by a public road, 380 and 1509·3 links; and towards the west by the east bank of Surveyors Creek. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 22/2743, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged green.

Notifying Lands in Auckland Land District under Section 127 of the Land Act, 1908.

JELLICOE, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section one hundred and twenty-seven of the Land Act, 1908, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be subject to the provisions of the said section one hundred and twenty-seven of the said Act; and I do further declare that the said lands shall be deemed to be “scrub land,” and shall be exempt from payment of rent for a period of two years from the dates from which such lands are disposed of.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section twenty of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1912, , John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby set apart the land described in the Schedule hereto for disposal under the section of the Act mentioned.
